I know Chad Ford has his fantasy trades, but what do you guys think? Do you think Lue, Howard, or Gaines is going to be here after the trade? What about MoT? Post away.
i think dealing Mo Taylor is a possibility but i fully expect to see Juwan Howard starting at the 4 spot this year. Lue will opt out this week so there isn't any point in discussing him. I think the team adds a couple of guys through free agency with the chance of trading Taylor, otherwise i don't expect much more trade wise after this.
Lue will be gone becuase he will opt out & we WILL make another trade dont forget our trade exeption we got from the Rice trade with Utah thats just sittin around. Look for a busy offseason full of trades and moves.
It seems to me Lue would be stupid to opt out if he thinks he stands any chance at starting here next season. Between Yao and T-Mac we'll get ridiculous media coverage. Seems like that's ideal for any player who wants to try to get more money when their contract expires. Any player who can make any contributions at all anyway....
... at a minimum, we HAVE to get a new starting PG, and backup Center. Hopefully, we can also get a stronger inside presence at PF than Howard or Taylor, but maybe that won't happen until next summer.
What would you guys think of sending Taylor to Portland for Derek Anderson? Pro's: Anderson is an explosive player with his head on straight. He's talented but wouldn't be a problem in the locker room or complain about shots. He's a good passer with a nice handle, it is very possible with McGrady in the lineup to start him at PG. Con's: His contract is nearly identical to Taylor's so we wouldn't be taking on a better contract. PG Anderson SG McGrady SF Jimmy Jackson All three of those guys are good passers and can handle the ball. Just a thought....
Derek Anderson's a big injury risk and the Blazers have no depth at guard as it is... I don't think they'll be willing to start a backcourt of Telfair (5'11) and Stoudamire (5'10). With Zach Randolph and Dale Davis, they're set at the 4.
If Portland does the rumored Kerry Kittles/SAR deal, that means they're set at SG with Kittles and Qyntel Woods. PG they're obviously set with Telfair/Stoudamire/Dickau. Dale Davis isn't any good so Taylor would have to accept a role like SAR did after the trade playing behind Randolph. Stranger things have happened than a deal like this...
