Boki has shown flashes of greatness, that is the main reason i would like to keep him.

Not sure how Moochie factors in here since he was a fan favorite. Of course he had a very unfreindly contract that made him all that much harder to stomach

Boki was at least good enough to make the rotation in the play offs so he must be improving in the eyes of his coach. I just have one word for those league execs: Awwwwww.

Some of these execs are acting as if Weisbrod is the first GM to play so tough. Spare me. Plus he played pretty damn good in the play offs.

There is nothing to figure out here, no story, no race issue...just a mid 1st round draft pick that most of us want to work out because the Rockets would be that much better if he does.

Everyone wants Boki to be more than he is. We have hope. We pin it on him. We don't have that hope for Scott Padgett.

Please, Boki Boki, Please, Boki Boki, Please!

Show us something! Be a man! Take that small forward job and make it happen!

We all want that guy to deliver the goods. He shows just enough to keep hope alive. We want the pick to pan out.

HOWEVER - I'd be very happy to have Tmo as a little insurance. Tmo could do what we need. He can pass the ball into the post. He can hit a mid range jumper. He can rebound, play position d and block a shot now and then. He is better than the Bokinator at the end of the bench.

Our hopes for Boki as a contributor depend on him learning to pass, rebound, play position d, shoot, and slash effectively. Better than Padgett. A lot better. This is his last shot.

Boki's no Richard Jefferson. He's no Larry Bird. He's not even Tmo.
But we sure hope he can do more things. His good attitude keeps the fans on his side. We root for him. One sulk or sign of loafing, though, and I think we'd hate on him. The worm can turn very quickly.

    1. Boki is a very good rebounder.

    2. His Defense is much underatted.

    3. He has never had problems getting to the basket...just finishing. He looked towords the end of the year that he had his confedence and was finishing very nicely in the play offs

    4. Boki is a good shot blocker for a small forward. Just ask Karla Malone.

I thought Boki was really coming along very well at the end of last season.

I saw only 2 rocket games at the Toyota center. In both game, Boki played with heart and brain when he got his minutes.
He tried hard and seem to know where to stay and when to pass.
It seem like he know how to play as a team.

    I really like that.

The reason I rooted for Boki, Moochie, Hawk was they are always the underdogs... the people considered scrubs but they play for my team so I guess im a lil biased.

I hope Boki develops into what people project him to be ..

*the next Tayshaun Prince .. similar games dont you think? I think even in the scouting reports they said that Boki is not a Peja type but more of a slasher.

hes the perennial underdog and I wish him the best.. I dont want us to trade him and have him develop into a star on another team.

see thats where you screwed up man.i tried to sit back quietly but I cant take it anymore.....you DO NOT call Dan Langhi a bust. DL was the one that got away. Thats why we care so muc about boki... w/ him and DL, ur talking about untapped talent. Thats my rant, I thought I'd never have to talk about DL again, but you just had to go there....jason collier tho, carry on.

Don't mean to hijack the thread but figured it was better than starting another, anyone knwo what Tmo is up to this summer, I'd assume he's trying to hook up with someone's summer league team. I'd be interested to know what he's up to, and like to see him stick somewhere in the NBA. Anyways, thx for any info you all can give. And continue on with the Boki discussion :)

Most Rockets fans are so naive, Nachbar will never be the type of player the scouts projected him to be. What is consider flashy in the euro league is below average in the NBA. I'm surprise of most fans response because we should be sitting at the present with Tayshaun Prince, the Kobe stopper, and not Boki the Malone hacker.

BOKI sucks and so does Race....I can't wait when this site gets into debates whether or not Croatian players are better than Serbian players...or Nigerian players are better than Sudanese players.

    Hmm..

I wonder why so much is being made over Boki? Negatively especially. I personally, do pull for Boki, and do believe he will turn out to be a good third option type player. And a scrappy, hard nosed, well balanced role player. But, by no means do I consider him to one day be the next Peja. That I'd risk losing T-mac over him :p

But, really, I don't get why some consider him a scrub or a 'bust' or just some useless commodity. I mean, do you all realize, he's only been two years in the league? One of which, was under Rudy. Who publicly stated, "Next year will be Boki's real rookie season"? And who had that "veterans come first" mentality, and had a clog in the SF position that same year?

After that year of Boki riding the bench, his next year, the year Rudy proclaimed to be his "real rookie season". Rudy's out, and JVG comes in. Who does indeed start the developement of Boki, and it indeed turned out to be his "real rookie season'. Where JVG pushed him and guided him towards enhancing his game, widening it into other areas, like hustle, defense and just showing tenacity, desire to be out on the court with smart, hard nosed play. And offensively, to be more aggressive towards the basket. All of which he did.

So, I really don't see how all that translates to "Boki sucks" or "scrub" or "bust". Basically, he's only actually had ONE year of development. All he needs is to work on his jumpshot, and he'll be fine.

Does anyone still have a link to the recording of Boki's scuffles with Malone during the Lakers series?
