Butler and Leonard are remarkably similar players, and Butler could easily reach Leonard's level come next venture. Their size (Butler is 6'7'', 220 pounds, Leonard is 6'7'', 225 pounds), three-point percentage, rebound tally, defensive consistency and mindset are eerily close. Taken from a old article when he was playing as a rookie for the bulls. Maybe close comparison but not as good. Still very good player. Jimmy still doesnt have a ring but been close.
I’m seeing tweets that the Heat have to be better. Umm they were the # 1 seed hosting Game 7. Give the Celtics credit - their Big 3 had monster games even still the Heat had a chance to win. Hindsight is 20/20 Jimmy obviously went for the kill shot. Maybe he knew he was gassed and didn’t want to play for OT. Anyways if someone other than Bam could have helped the game could have turned out different.
Luckily the Celtics drafted two skilled players high in the draft who can handle the ball, drive to the basket and create their own shot off the dribble. Good for them.
He had 3 bad games ( the Heat lost 2) in this series, had he just had average outings they might be in the Finals. Ah well, great series by both teams.
I watching alot of questioning Jimmy's three pointer. People saying he should have drove and probably get the foul call at least. Weird that people who complain about putting the game in the refs hands ..... wanted Jimmy to put the game in the refs hands. Looked like a clean open look. He just missed it. It happens. You miss 100% of the shots you don't take. Rocket River
Jalen may need to leave He is in the CJ McCollumn/Bradley Beal role. Which is fine but I think he maybe able to Carry his own team Rocket River
Celtics coach is winning for sure not only is he going to the finals but he snagged Nia Long on the way there.
Interesting, it seemed like they could have used some shooting down the stretch there. I didn't think Herro was just unplayable in these scenarios, hard to imagine what his next contract will be, at times he looks like a near max player. I noticed PJ was injured and missed most of the 4th, couple things here and there and we'd see the Heat get swept by the Warriors. Glad to see Boston advance, definitely think they will have a better shot at the Warriors. The Heat are just too banged up with Jimmy, PJ, Kyle, Herro etc all injured to an extent.
The biggest question I had about that shot was even if he hit it, there was way too much time on the clock. Somehow there is this narrative that it would have been a game winner if it went in, but if it did, Boston would have had a full shot clock to work with. Obviously you don't want to allow a defense like Boston's to get set but I think Butler and Miami would have been better served to take a lot more time off the clock than what they did.
You take what the defense gives you. Butler had a wide open 3, and shooting it was the correct play. Also, Boston would've had 16 seconds (not a full shot clock), and they had just played 3 minutes of scoreless basketball.
