I heard REALLY good things about his defense so I can't say I'm surprised by that aspect of his game. However, I did not expect this much power, nor for him to be batting around 300. As a hitter I predicted he'd be maybe a 250 hitter with 10-15 bombs (with room to improve). I also expected to see noticeable "rookie struggles" from him out the gate. He's exceeded my projections.
Mariners scored 2 runs in the series in Houston. Maybe they think they need to return the favor and only score 2 in Seattle.
This is the exact type of game the Astros have lost all year. They won't score another run before Seattle does.
