It all depends on their rebuild plan and they've just hired draft guru Mike Schmitz for their FO.

The FO in past have valued defense to surround Dame but they appear headed in completely different direction. Maybe.

Wood may have value for them or they could prefer EGo/Tate, really I have no clue as to their new direction.

Even they may not know right now either.

Give them everything. I'd literally jump for joy to trade #17, Tate,Gordon, Wood for #7. Id even throw in the Milawaukee pick with lotto protection.

    Sengun/Garuba
    Banchero/KPJ
    Eason
    Green/Christopher
    KPJ/Nix

Is us continuing to rebuild the right way.

Porter, Wood, Tate & this year’s Nets pick. It’s an overwhelming amount for the pick in a weaker draft but all will be needed to get the yes.

You're cashing in a lot of assets to pick a guy at 7 who might well be available at 17...

I would rather trade KPJ than Tate. You also can not have ALL rookies and second year players. If that is what it took though I would do it. This team needs to create a clean slate with team first players.

We need our own Darvin Ham. Silas is an assistant coach at best and that too on only offense.

It has it's pros and cons. The gap between Jabari and Paolo is not big. The 12th and 17th gap is bigger. KJM is good, he's not an essential piece. The Bucks pick isn't a deal breaker for me, however there is a possibility that the Bucks could collapse without Giannis if he gets injured. Jrue is their only other star.
I hope the Rockets will get a slice of luck at 17. A two way wing is needed.

I was just answering @astrosrule’s question. I personally think it is to much. Oddly, out of the 4 assets from my proposed trade the pick has the most value to me not any of the players because all need to get paid and are not part of the solution. I view the lot of players as a band-aid and in the way of development in the future. Portland would not get a stronger offer. BTW, I would do the deal if we could keep this year’s Nets pick; would go even further to making us younger which is your concern.

Who are you pining for at 7? BPA or fit? There is no wrong answer with a second pick in any draft, IMO.

This is a very good trade for the rockets since the Milwaukee pick is lottery protected. Who cares if we roll out another super young team next year. It would be extremely entertaining and if it doesn’t translate to wins, then we are solidly in the running for supposedly the best prospect since Lebron

I would go for the Dyson guy probably at pg. you would have a starting lineup with a lot rookies and sophomores with an opportunity to give them ample playing time and see how much potential they have.

Dyson is supposed to have excellent defensive potential. And be an ideal match with Green.

Then next draft bring in the best defensive wing you can. Sign a defensive center and/or another wing. You still potentially have Garuba and Christopher and you should have great young team at that point.

I like his size, too @ 6’7”. If it takes moving Porter & Tate (& Wood) to get him than I like the fact that we will definitely develop (playing time given) Christopher & Nix by default.

By keeping #17 we should pick up Kendall Brown. His shooting will come in time but everything else is ready for a solid NBA starter’s career. Not everyone needs to be a super star. With Daniels and Brown covering up Green on either side both understanding their roles we should be set for a while. Just another opinion.

If we can move wood tate kpj matthews for bledsoe and #7 I’m all for it. Then I’d move Nwaba, #7 and #17 to Sacramento for #4 and holiday and take both Paolo and Ivey or if Sac turns down the offer I’d go with Paolo, Duren and EJ Liddell to sure up that front court for the future.

    Gordon/Christopher/Nix
    Green/FA
    Martin Jr/Holiday
    Paolo/EJ/Garuba
    Duren/Sengun/Bruno

If Banchero is the pick, would you trade Wood and Sengun for Turner (If he agrees to extend)?

Turner would be a perfect fit with Paolo

This could be a good idea for both Houston and Portland, except without the Milwaukee pick included. Plus we would have to take back a bunch of salary in the deal, so that may mess up the FA plans for the '23 offseason.

Also, if they traded to 7 they would probably be taking a guy like Murray, Sharpe, Mathurin, Duren, or Daniels. They could likely get Eason by trading up to 13 or even 15, and save a ton of assets.
