trade him to warriors for kuminga....add a frp if necessary...rockets arent a finesse team witha delicate coaching, i fear he could be out of league(like the dude with post up game from philly cuople years back), if the malpractice continues and we end up getting nothing in return...

His English is so good now! Communication on the court and with coach is key so now no excuse why he shouldn't be the full time starter with a full off-season working on his stamina and foul rate and shooting.
If he starts out on the bench again, coach will have lost me for good.

Can Al-P be at least Al Horford on defense? Guy is playing well for the Celtics this off season and anchored Atlanta for a long time.

It's possible. He looks very good on the Celtics.

Horford only made 1 all defensive team in 2018, but in his prime he was always in the top 20 in terms of advanced defensive stats.

I don't know if it's realistic to expect that kind of output from Sengun, though it would be great if he did.

He certainly has the tools to play D as Nemanja Bjelica is doing for GS.

?????? No, he definitely cannot be "at least" Al Horford. He can't even be "at most" Al Horford!

Alp can absolutely be a Horford level defender, similar type skill sets. Not monster shot blockers but can play good positional defense, get some steals and hustle plays.
Similar size and neither are elite athletes.

we've obviously been here on other threads. "not elite athlete" is a giant category at which Alp is very close to the bottom. I know you think otherwise. Horford's advanced metrics on D matched how he was perceived in the league on that end - extremely high end. That will never ever ever be Sengun, whose best-case scenario is "playable in the playoffs."

Horford isn’t elite in anything, in fact he’s well below average in movement tests. Above average vertical.
And yes we won’t agree on Alp being a below average athlete. Because he’s not. He’s an average to solid NBA athlete, nothing special. But neither is Horford.
This is literally what I do man, I coach and test Olympic athletes. Which are better athletes than most basketball players.

Also, what metrics are you referring to?

DBPM, DWS, DRating aren’t unimaginable for Alp. Neither are the counting stats, which are already similar

Alpi's high IQ and his determination to get better can't be measured. I want to retain him.
