Are you talking about the 40+ minutes to get him? That was my 1st WTH. You get 3-4 guys and you have to bum rush the threat. I know you want to go home and you don't want to make things worse but you can't just "surround the perimeter and wait for others to get there". Do your job.
can’t even count on the cops who are trained for this, but we want to arm teachers and task them with eliminating school shooters… Remember back in the day when the only drills we learned in school was the fire drill? Now u gotta prep 1st graders for the chance that someone comes in and starts shooting the place up
If the douchebag was actively shooting kids during the 40 minutes to an hour that the police were staging, then the cops were clearly cowards. But if things were quiet for the moment, then it's a hostage situation and it's reasonable to take your time to gather information.
Especially with kids, I want to live to be 100 like everyone else but being a father knowing innocent children lives are on the line, I couldn’t NOT risk it in good conscience
most people are cowards including the cops, everyone feels/talks like Rambo til the actual bullets start flying....
It’s troubling that the timeline has changed. The Governor told us what happened one day and then the next day facts have changed. Now I’m hearing there was no school resource officer even at the school the day of the shooting. I mean, these are some pretty big discrepancies. I’m getting the feeling that the local cops just weren’t up to the task, so they just waited for the border control team to come in and do the job. From what I’ve heard the Uvalde police DOES have a swat team. We don’t know all the details(will we ever?), so I don’t want to jump to too many conclusions. But, when stories start changing I can’t help but wonder what’s going on. okay, so here is the Uvalde SWAT team.
I don't trust a damn word coming out of the mouths of law enforcement here. They're all in cyoa mode. Texas politicians are such enablers of them we shouldn't trust them either. This stinks to high hell. Occams razor says that the perp likely killed everyone in the classroom fairly quickly (before police were organized) and then there was a long standoff, but given the ****ery by authority figures here the real story could be much worse.
https://archiveddit.com/?video=uy7552.mp4 More footage of cops doing nothing and arguing with parents while their kids get murdered inside Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, TX. https://archiveddit.com/?video=uyg4e4.mp4 Uvalde cop single handedly got a student killed by asking students to yell for help and the shooter killed the kid asking for help https://archiveddit.com/?video=uxzh88.mp4 The cops at Uvalde literally stood outside and refused to go in after the shooter and even stopped parents from helping their kids NSFL
I'm not going to blame the LEO until knowing much much more and getting a sense of what they knew. Incidences like this are always chaotic and confusing. I've dealt with enough disaster situations to know how confusing things can get and during the riots two years ago here in Minneapolis there was a lot of confusion. It's easy not being on the scene and finding out things a day later to say well they should've just rushed in and killed him. They don't know if there are other shooters, if he has a bomb, if he's holding hostages. For that matter they don't know if an armed civilian is the shooter or an armed civilian trying to take out the shooter.
Shooter strolls in, but apparently the police have to ring a bell or wait while outnumbering the shooter 20 to 1 while he shoots up kindergarteners
It’s been well known after columbine, so no I don’t think they were in the right when video evidence and parent testimony contradicts it. 6 year olds being shot and they waited
