If problems are too hard/costly, do nothing and don't even try to fix it?

Don't fund welfare because some people are lazy.

Don't get vaccinated because it doesn't guarantee immunity.

Don't restrict guns because bad guys exist.

Don't implement universal healthcare because a guy in Canada had to wait six months for a hip replacement.

 

Meanwhile continue to bankrupt our country with unnecessary military funding....

The one I like in explaining health care is when they say, well the Euro countries are on a much smaller scale....so I bring up India and China......and flatline them....

It’s not that the solutions are hard it’s half the populace that is the problem. Change has to be incremental in this country. Women’s suffrage, civil rights, gay marriage all took decades longer than they should have because half the population are idiots.

Right now everyone agrees women should vote but a little over 100 years ago that wasn’t the case. You had that generation’s misogynistic idiots that hadn’t died off yet.

Fast forward 100 years and we will likely have universal healthcare and gun control. And most of the population will be happy with it like they are in most every other country.

We continue to get progressive as we become more educated and the idiots of that generation die off. Right now we are dealing with this generation of right wing idiots.

Thankfully they will eventually die off and leave this world a better place without them.

 

There is a lot of time including this past week that I have doubts whether as a country, civilization or even a species we will survive for another 100 years.

 

I have a friend that says women getting the vote is the worst thing that happened to this country, so not quite everyone.

So far this year in the state of Texas we have decided:

Our right to buy an AR15 with no restrictions is more important than the lives of our innocent children.

And an unborn child is more important than a woman’s body.

We have certainly removed all doubt…. Women are bottom of the barrel in Texas.

The internet has changed this. People are getting dumber. This is the first time that I am believing this but I truly think that the average person is dumber today than 10 years ago. Social media, fake news, has made us all less critical thinkers.

 

Problem with this is because of how the country is set up the minority has more power than it should...so we are now going backwards. We are now once again debating LGBTQ+ rights and Women's rights...again. That these things should even be up for debate is ludicrous.

That minority is overly represented in senate and because of this we might not even have a democracy in 100 years.
