Dang I forgot about that one. I remember Steve's second dunk he went up backwards and put the ball between his legs and dunked it. he was so high up that his head touched some of the net. Now thats mad hops.
One of my favorite performances was when he scored 18 in the first quarter in his first game against the bulls. the announcer said somthing like, "I'm glad the Bulls didn't draft Francis, because he would always be compared to Michael Jordan." Oh what could have been. Anyone else find it strange that most of his best plays occured during his rookie year? The zone defense has really supressed his game. That, and he really hasn't added much to it over the years.
I liked his play, period. You people complain that he has too many turnovers but when it comes down to it he averages a little more than John Stockton, the same as Jason Kidd, and less than Allen Iverson. He's a good one.
one game i will always remember was that game against golden state in his rookie year. what were his stats exactly 30 17 14 or so. it was sick.
I liked all the other ones you mentioned (especially #10), but even Skip to my Lou knows better than to do the Skip to my Lou dribble in the NBA.
Surprised no one mentioned when Steve almost jumped over Baron Davis this past year. It would have been cool if he had, but I'll take the "nuts to Baron's face" variety just the same.
After reading this thread, I'm going to miss Steve more than ever. It's a shame that he didn't get one more chance with this team. If McGrady does not lead the league in scoring, or if he is injured for an extended period, this will be the worst trade in Rockets history. One of my favorite Francis moments was when he teamed up with Hakeem to beat the Sonics on December 9th, 2000. That was the first game I ever saw in person. Several months later, he poured in 32 points against Portland, and led the team to victory. I was there at the Rose Garden. The talent he showed in that game was simply stunning. Best of luck Steve.
I love the way he torched Chi-town and his co-rok of the year Elton Brandmuffin. I also loved that fast break bounce pass he did behind his back to some tall chinese guy coming as a trailer for a dunk. But what I will remember most is he was the best player an his team and still put out the most effort and filled up a stat sheet like very few can. People seem to forget he is the best point gaurd we've had in god knows how long. AND he is the best peremeter player we have had besides Clyde da' Glyde since Calvin Murphy.
Braves have a RING and 12 straight division titles. remember that and respect that. We all know what the Astros do in October.
Yeah that was sick too. The Rockets lost the game but Francis was snagging boards over Dampier, Foyle, and Spoon. He looked like Magic Johnson that night but he didn't have any help.
The McGrady-Francis trade is a no-brainer, you can't pass up on a talent like that, he's just a better all around player than Stevie. But ouch, don't cha think that was a little harsh?
he gave 100% for 5 seasons, maybe he didn't play great this year. but he is a great player. When i see what alot of "fans"write about francis the last year, i'm almost glad for him that he can go to an other team, with fans who do aprpiciate him.
His 44-point b****-slapping of the Fakers last year. Most remarkably: His nothing-but-net, falling to the ground, basket-and-the-foul in Bryant's ugly mug, and of course his game-tying 3 for overtime.
I loved Franchises 1st dunk contest. That one dunk he had was just distgusting for a 6'3 guard. He was robbed in the 2nd contest imo.
