True. There are only 14 lottery picks. Some potential lottery pick will fall below 14. Top 3: Chet, Jabari, Paolo Top 4-10: Ivey, Sharpe, Murray, Griffin, Duren, Daniels, Davis Top 11-14: Sochan, Mathurin, Dieng, Branham, Williams, Eason (any of them can be lottery pick) 15-30 are pretty much depend on team need.
True enough, someone will fall. But it isn't clear who (or why) they'll fall at this point. The measureables on other younger players are pretty attractive and may cause GMs to see new stars on the horizon. It does seem that Sharpe has worked his way alongside Daniels into the top 10 and that will push some other guards/wings down in the draft, if ever so slightly. Point guard, Jalen Williams's stock is doing quite well after the combine. It might be shocking, but it's at least possible that he will slide ahead of more well-known guys like Agbaji or M. Brandon. Williams proved that he has an inch or two on them in wingspan, and with his 33.5" standing vertical, he may have literally jumped past them. Arizona playmaker Mathurin didn't even do athletic testing so all he could do is watch. The same could be said for the multi-skilled, Wisconsin star Johnny Davis who tested with a 6'8.50 wingspan. Jalen Williams: 7'2.50. Mathurin and Davis will need to have some great in-person meetings. But then again, some GM may already be in love with what they can do. Beauchamp at #17 for the Rockets is certainly realistic, but as he works out for teams, will he continue to climb? And what about Jaden Hardy, who skipped combine measurements, but has tons of scoring skills? I have a hard time believing that he'll finish in the lower half of the first round. It's all fun and games at this point.
I know this may be sacrilege, but I like Roddy at combo guard more than Jaygup. And I really like Jaygup - and think they'd be great together actually. More I watch him, squint just right, I see more Harden instead of Banchero.
6'5 260 kind of thicc. But oh so skilled, and plays very physically. +40% from 3P. Averaged same # of assists as Banchero (3.5) but scored more and had more boards/blocks/steals.
he’s uber talented offensively. I wouldn’t be furious if we took him at 17, but damn it sure would solidify what’s become obvious over the past two seasons: this organization just doesn’t care about defense.
pretty sure Nix is younger than almost anyone in this draft as well. i really want daniels but i think he goes #7-10 range which i don't think we have the ammo to trade up for. I don't why Charlotte doesn't take Wood +17 for our pick however. Debating between Eason/Williams there. If we take Jabari then Williams is a nobrainer for me. Eason if we go Banchero route. A Green/Daniels/Banchero trio is something I would be salivating over. Hell a Green/Dyson/Sengun trio where Sengun is operating the high post or throwing outlets is juicy.
I know its been posted but I forget where. Can you send the link that shows the prospects measurements? You and @J.R. are pretty good at that. Thanks in advance.
Honestly, how can you say that any first-round caliber prospect is NOT "in the mix" for the Rockets at #17? He most certainly is, in the same respect that 20+ other prospects are in the mix there.
