WINNIE THE POOH: BLOOD AND HONEY - New Movie Puts A Horror Spin On The Beloved Bear Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey is an upcoming indie horror movie that aims to put a sinister spin on the beloved Disney character. How can this be? Well, Pooh is now public domain! RorMachine | 5/26/2022 Filed Under: "Movies" Have you ever wanted to see one of your beloved childhood favourites reimagined as a cold-blooded murderer? Me neither... but here we are! Winnie The Pooh entered the public domain earlier this year, which means Walt Disney Co. can no longer lay sole claim to the forgetful little bear. Filmmaker Rhys Frake-Waterfield has taken full advantage by putting a mallet in Pooh's hand and turning him into a remorseless killer. Details on the project are few and far between, but Dread Central is reporting that this indie project will be "a grisly retelling of the Winnie the Pooh legend" starring Amber Doig-Thorne, Maria Taylor and Danielle Scott. Check out some official promo stills - which also feature a twisted version of Piglet - below. As far as we can tell, Pooh, Piglet and co. won't actually be evil anthropomorphic stuffed animals, as these guys appear to be normal humans in masks. Then again, maybe they are supposed to be the former and the FX budget only stretched so far! Either way, we will be keeping a very close eye on this one, so stay tuned for updates.

There was lot of Monopolizing source material on the classics. Disney kept using lawyers to push back the public domain deadlines. At some point, what's the point of having laws, if the Govt would just keep exempting Disney, but everyone else had to follow.
