I made the mistake of getting a full rack of ribs there. I ate on it for three days and still couldn't finish. We go to the one off hwy 6 in Sugarland. Love the restaurant but there is always a wait to get in
Here are some other places in BMT for your friend to check out…Pho Crystal, Amelias, Katherine's on Calder and mlk, Vo's seafood.
Grew up within 20 miles of Beaumont. Avoid at all costs. 0/10 stars. Do not recommend. That said, it's lightyears ahead of where it was when I was growing up. Now there are restaurants that have non-laminated menus and bars that serve more than 3 domestic beers. Fun-entertainment options beyond a few lame pool halls and ice houses is basically zero though. Every time I bring my wife to go visit family she is absolutely amazed that I made it out don't have prison tattoos, an STD, and still have all my teeth. It's hilarious taking her to places like Walmart or Crystal Beach and letting her see, with her own eyes, the combined cast of every episode of Teen Mom and Jerry Springer all rolled into one. Story time: When I visited last Christmas we had to take my kid to an urgent care clinic. Around midnight we come out of the clinic and there is a prostitute dressed in a cheetah print rag of a dress rolling around on the floor having a total drug induced meltdown. I told the security inside the clinic and they came out and literally just picked her up and threw her into the woods behind the clinic. My wife is suggesting we fly my family up for Christmas next year instead.
Ok because I actually live here, the real story is this. Don't move to Beaumont. Live north in Hardin County or west Jefferson county. There are a couple of decent areas in Beaumont itself but most of it is run down. If you have to go into Port Arthur, stay north of HWY 73 at all costs. There are a lot of decent places to eat are in Mid County (Nederland Port Neches area). There are some good locally owned places. Floyd's and Pine Tree Lodge in Fannett for seafood. There are a couple of decent Korean places, surprisingly. Daddio's for burgers. Tia Juanita's is also popular. It's Mexican/Cajun fusion. I will second 1701 BBQ. Great food but get there early, they will sell out. There are some good SETX Foodie facebook pages that are really good and have a lot of info on the local food scene. There is a newish bar in Beaumont Pour09 that is nice but it is more of a younger crowd. There are a lot of good places for drinks and live music (Madisons, Lukes, RIkenjacks, Howies in Sour Lake is a little hole in the wall but has cheap beer). Most of the acts are country or 80's covers, but there are some decent groups and if you drink enough the music won't matter. Modelo's Sports bar is new and supposed to be good. I haven't been yet. They serve Tex-Mex and the staff dress code is like Hooters. There isn't much of a club scene but there are a couple of local breweries that serve a variety of beers and have indoor and outdoor sitting areas. Avoid the Cheddar's in Beaumont. It is poorly run and has bugs. If you are in Baytown that one is good.
Don't move to Beaumont, avoid Port Arthur both have bugs. There is a reason IH10 has more entrance ramps than exit ramps in Beaumont.
No, but better than Ruby Tuesdays and TGI Fridays. Very Macaronni Grille like in a Bennigan's kind of way.
I was brought that if you don’t have anything nice to say it’s best to say nothing at all. The baseball complex is nice. After that I just wonder why we aren’t in Louisiana at the casino.
