People hate on Dusty all the time but he’s done his job. His teams haven’t performed in the World Series. It’s not a coaching issue, and he’s largely out coached other managers on his runs in the playoffs. Sitting his star players every game is a product of someone who wants his guys fresh and engaged by the end of the season. I have no issue that the Astros play for the long game, not the sprint.
At this point, we have to give him the benefit of the doubt. What kills me is his habit of sitting players right after they have a big game at the plate. I would rather let hot streaks catch momentum, but I guess his theory is to have them sit while they are feeling better about themselves. Or something.
Speak for yourself. We win despite him. He doesn't have a positive effect on this team outside of being a good person
