Hopefully we move up to get the guy we want and not move down because we didn't get any of the guys we wanted.

I don’t see it as being wise to add 3 draft picks. We should not be using more than two picks in this draft….at most!

unless, of course we trade away a bunch of young guys from last year.

It would likely take the 17th pick plus other assets to move up unless if a team is dumb enough to trade us a lotto pick for Wood and/or Tate and if so then we should absolutely do it. Ultimately I generally agree that we should be looking to consolidate our assets for higher quality, not diluting them to fill out a roster

Edit: actually I might have misinterpreted your response. I thought you were assuming my post implied we keep 17 and move up, but I think you were critical of turning 17 to 20+25. Haha my bad

What about Dyson Daniels at 17? Looks to have really good size at the PG position but I know almost nothing about him other than that and he's interviewed well.

His stock is rising. He's is a good defender with length, good footwork and his jumper is improving.

I think nearly everyone that we need will be gone by the 17th, and we will be left with crumbs by the 20th pick.

Yuck. Pass. Unless we were busted at #17. Still pass though I think. Overpay to move up if necessary. Id rather trade Tate/Gordon/ Wood to move up to 7-13 than pass on "over-paying".

We must secure Paolo and either Sochan or Eason.

Wow, I read that he was really impressing at the combine but I didn't realize the hype. If he has true PG ability at that size, I can see the intrigue.

Portland would be the team to target in that case, it's possible they whiff on Jerami Grant and whatever their top tier of acquisitions are.

Man if we could get 7 that would be quite the haul. That would ensure one of Ivey, Sharpe, or Murray (actually wouldn't, math is hard) if we didn't pick Daniels. Imagine walking out of the draft with Banchero and Ivey

I didn't say he needed surgery, I questioned if he did?

Do you wish me to post the several scouting videos
on Baldwin which state he had numerous injuries, involving
    ankle or ankles?

Scouting video stating Coach K loved this kids play?

Scouting video which stated he had COVID?

Here is the first college game of Baldwin prior to opposing teams
scouting how bad his teammates were. Before injury or injuries

    18 points in 18 minutes.

Here, here is one. I've posted it before. Actually watch it this time. I'm not
going to do your d### homework for you. Learn more than just criticize.
    Lazy #$$.

    Here is another.

mentions coach K. I'm done with your stupidity.

There’s a big drop off in talent after 20 so I wouldn’t do that deal

Just curious what others think. Brett Siegels over at SI.com has his post-combine mock out. He has Rockets selecting Jalen Duren at #17. This after adding Paolo at #3. For those wondering, he has Eason going at #10 to Washington and Williams at #13 to Charlotte.

statistically only about 20 players from each draft earn a second NBA contract. only about 15 or so become starters or better by that second contract.

this is a weak draft on top of that so you can probably reduce each number by ~5. We're right at the tail end of that tier.

if we feel like there are 15 NBA players in this draft and none slipped to us at 17, I'd rather

    1. trade up a few picks to get a guy we think can be a starter one day, even if its an overpay (#17+tate for #14 for example)
    2. trade OUT of the draft altogether. give me a future pick in '24 or later.
    3. do the spurs deal but forward the #25 pick to another team for a future pick. I don't think we need 3 more rookies next year, especially 2 with a lower chance of hitting.
