Last night my son, who plays juco baseball, officially accepted an offer to attend and play ball at Westpoint. He works really hard and has earned everything that comes his way. Super proud. He will probably stay in the military even after his 5 year commitment is up. We will see. Great place. We visited in January
That is seriously awesome. I've always regretted not even trying to apply to West Point or the Naval Academy.
Back in early November they were advertising a prospect camp that was in January. His juco coach reached out and talked about him and, more importantly, he has the academics to be accepted. It has taken a lot of effort, but they liked what they saw and were able to make it happen. Now that he has accepted the offer he has more paperwork and appointments to do. It is all worth it though. This is a great opportunity
Glad someone brought this back up. I forgot about it. Found out this week that my son got accepted to CU-Boulder and is going there this fall with his GF for his Masters. Pretty cool, especially because we visited there exactly 30 years ago when I was 20 so I was able to share several pics of me back then.
My son has turned into an a-hole, but he's not 100% a dick. So he has that going for him........which is nice.
Empty nester here. I have more years on this site than my youngest has lived. Both kids doing well, one in grad school and one soon to be.
Okay, I can play… My 12 year old son is playing football, plays both ways. First play, first game of the season he had a pick 6. Then caught two TD passes later in a 31-0 win.
My 1st grade 7yo son won Coder of the Year for the entire school, k-5th grade. In addition, he is being pulled from class to tutor older gifted & talented kids in coding. He likes helping and tutoring people. He was also got an award for finishing 30+ math lessons on ItsLearning.com but didn't get an award for spending 1000+ minutes on the platform. Meaning he killed the math lessons faster than any of the other kids.
Can’t say my boys are either rocket scientists or even breadwinners. However, they are incredibly handsome, polite, and charming.
Oldest gets his PHD next year. Middle child graduated college from a very expensive Texas school 2 weeks ago. 3rd, well, 2 out 3 ain't bad...lol. He is graduated HS in 2021 and we are trying to make him a productive member of society.
