Jalen is extremely likeable dude. I like what he is working on: tight handle, catch and shoot 3s It was interesting when they talked about PGs he didn't push back with "we got KPJ" or the like, rather they went on to Jalen handling some of those duties and JG noted how that's the last part of the season went - and indeed, it was very obvious that is how the last part of the season went, more PG by committee approach, and that really helped everyone imo. Finally, JG wants 25 ppg next year. Simmons mentioned 23,5,5 as doable - idk about that. both the boards and apg numbers are a decent jump too. But in any case, anything over 20ppg on solid efficiency, with average+ defense (and above average effort), and 3ish rpg and apg (but hopefully 4 on each), will be a FANTASTIC season for JG and further step towards stardom imo. Ja didnt hit 20 ppg until this year (massive jump), Trae hit 29 ppg his second year... either approach works for me lol
Idk it just felt like manufactured outrage from the start. Bill Simmons says off the cuff sh*t like that all the time on his podcast. It wasn't some outlier so I doubt he has some hidden grudge against Green. I get he's our guy but everybody blew this out of proportion imo
This is impressive from JALEN to agree to this interview. I LOVE beef, but I also understand how narrative can destroy a career. With all the early stumbles (signing with adidas), Jalen was trending in the "no mater what he does, the public and pundits will hate him" territory. Taking this interview with he guy who said "f*ck him" and coming off like just a kid trying to be great in the NBA is such a smart savvy move. Harden wouldn't talk to anyone and would just let the hate fester, now look at him. He might be washed and EVERYBODY hates him. Nobody is giving him the benefit of the doubt. I wonder if his publicist told him to do this or it was him. Genius IMO.
I think this confirms rockets are looking at the top 3 bigs…which makes me feel confident Stone’s not gonna pull a crazy Ivan and go after Ivey. It will be Paolo or Jabari.
draymond and embiid both spoke out about it. It might not be a big deal to you, but it defintely is too the players
Players often speak out on trending topics. That doesn't mean much to me. Just saying Bill Simmons has say stuff like that for years on his podcast. Doesn't mean there is some grand anti-Green/anti-Houston mentality
Bill was doing it for clicks because he knows some fan basses are saltier than others. Mission accomplished. Does anybody really think he would have a reason to hate JG?
Totally unprofessional? It's THE profession these days, it's why SAS is making the most money at ESPN and Cowherd has a show.
Bill is just being randomly spiteful for clicks, or Bill is some kind of mastermind? Occam's razor says choice A. Is this a rhetorical question? Bill seems like a pretty opinionated guy. I would also put myself in that category. Do I think he has a ton of opinions? Yes, that's how you become a known writer/talking head. Do I know all of the reasons? No.
Nba messed up when they tied all-nba selections to supermax contracts. We saw both Tatum and Donovan Mitchell miss out them as did devin booker. This upcoming cba wouldn’t be shocked to see the players take back the voting from the media
