What are things you use to like/love and now dislike/hate or vice versa? - I was curious about how our tastes change - I’ll give my examples : Soda - I try to avoid soda now - but I use to love root beer - now I can’t stand it Drinks- use to hate sparkling water- now it’s my go to instead of soda Foods- use to avoid onions in food - not anymore- same with mushrooms Sports- I use to watch basketball like crazy not so much if at all- football has replaced that .. Hobbies/Other entertainment - I use to target shoot a lot - for various reasons I lost interest now…I am not into watching wrestling like before but that’s probably everyone lol- some things surprisingly haven’t changed- I still love video games same as my younger days and anime such as cute rom coms, good slice of life or action types
I used to love the NBA and the Rockets. When the Milwaukee Buck refused to play (in order to protest) and teams (including the Rockets) started putting BLM and other social/political statements on their jerseys I completely dropped the NBA, including the Rockets. I now hate what the NBA has become. I used to hate history. Now I'm very interested in it. I used to like people in general, but my default is now to hold people in very low regard unless they show me otherwise.
The Mona Lisa never used to smile at me, now she be like smiling all the time. And that's gonna be a problem.
White people - I used to generally like white people, but as I get older I find them to be entitled and have an over blown sense of self importance. Religious people - I used to make a strong effort to not let someone being very religious keep me from listening to them or bonding. Not anymore. I don't want to hear about Allah or your sky God guiding your life. It is stupid. Foreign call centers - I used to worry about being judgmental. Not anymore. They suck and they are not helpful. I understand they are just doing their job, but companies that go that route suck ass. Stingy and cheap people - I used to say "everyone is different". Not anymore, be generous and laid back because life is too short. I have actually lost friendships over this. If you don't tip well, then stay home. Old people - I used to think they were so wise. Not true most of the time, they are paranoid and scared and hold onto prejudices and lack joy in their life. Those types of people should be turned into fertilizer. Young women to date - Even 5 years ago I would date a woman in her early 20's. Not likely now. I have had side pieces in that age range and usually it just feels dirty. They cannot start their car or balance a bank account. That would be fine if I were the same age, but it feels dirty dating them now.
Professional basketball. Not a fan of the current way the NBA is played. Politics. No explanation needed. Roscoe's class ring. Where has that thing been? Spicy foods. Love it now.
This thread is about is about white males from the southern US getting old. I’ll see if I will feel different later.
This explains nothing. I used to hate beans. I hate beans now. I will always hate beans. My entry into this conversation will not involve beans.
Ketchup....when I was younger I hated it, now I love it Mustard, I used to be a mustard person on my ham and cheese, now I like Miracle Whip I used to like dill pickles, now I prefer sweet gherkins I used to hate coffee, now I have one cup a day I used to be a Republican and then Trump happened and I switched I used to drive a muscle car, now I want comfort over speed I used to let people on my lawn......now I tell them to GTF off I used to think I was irreplaceable at my job, but they've shown me over the years I am just a cog in the machine and I am ok with that I used to date young hot women........now I look at all of them as cray cray, give me a mature women whose been through the BS and is done with it I used to think 50 was old as %^$%, now I dont know what all the fuss was about
The confederate flag / Heritage not hate -- I was taught it was all about heritage but turns out that was a lie
Heh, it just reminded me of the Austin Powers bit "There are only two things I can't stand in this world: People who are intolerant of other people's cultures, and the Dutch."
