Well i have to admit ever since Doc broke through i dont think ive slept at all! I for one cant wait... just to hear something (good). Anyone out there heard anything or seen anything as of late? Did Steve go to Orlando today for sure? "I think im going to orlando". I have been checking every source i can think of for something new and something encouraging (no disrespect to the MAN the DOC). I just cant wait! What a day if this thing goes down! Anyone have any ideas on when it may get done? What time?
The Magic are having a press conference for Jameer Nelson in Orlando today at 10:30am EST. Chances are Francis will get to Orlando in the afternoon. Hopefully that will be when the trade is announced. Now, whether there is a press conference today or not I have no idea, but just getting it officially announced is good with me!
I think it is safe to expect Francis won't be at the press conference. They've been pretty clear about wanting their draft picks to have their own time. Plus, Francis is visiting. You have to think that they'll talk today and we'll hear something late this afternoon. They'll get in whatever they need to get in either by 4pm or by 8pm to account for the news broadcasts at 5 and 11 on the east coast.

ESPNNews won't break this till about 4 or 5 PM if and when it is confirmed today... so everyone can stop hitting refresh and just watch the news when you get home from work. Man, half you guys have probably ordered a #1 personalized jersey from NBA.com by now!!!
You know, something I really hadn't considered is that with Francis being in Orlando, they'll be able to do their press conference first. It means they can announce Francis as if it was their idea all along to bring him in all along. Makes them look proactive.
Did the press conference actually happen? It would be difficult to believe reporters wouldn't have asked about Francis/the deal.
From a PR stand point I'm not sure why they would make the Stevie announcement today. They will already have the a feel-good story in today's news cycle with Jameer Nelson. It's was pretty obvious on draft day they plan to use the kid's story for all it's worth. I would give it atleast one more day. Have Steve fly in late today (send the corporate jet for him so he stays under the radar), Have him meet and greet the team officials tonight and show up with a blue #3 jersey at a press conference tomorrow. You'd get a whole nother day with a lead story, and you would be building on the Nelson/Howard thing. Or, in the land of Disney, I might build the suspense as much as I could by extending the announcement right up to the deadline. It keeps the audience on the edge of their seats.
He might have to go back to 23 (college #) I think one of the Magic already wears 3...of course Steve will probaly cry and get it anyways.
