Man this is sucks. Seems like major injuries affecting the playoffs are much more common this past decade than they were in the aughts & 90's.
Both Celtics and Heat have players dropping, while the Warriors stand in a corner rubbing their hands together.
Moreover, avg mins have already gone down by at least 10% (league leaders used to be in the 40mins, now it's more like 36-37min) Players' careers have been extended as a result of this, but there's something about playoff injuries. Maybe players now are not used to the extra contacts allowed anymore?
My own theory is that players are bigger, faster and stronger and the game is played at higher level of intensity than in the 80's, 90's, 00's etc. Almost every player now do strength conditioning/personal work as well as start their training at a much younger age. the difference from this era to the 2000's is probably not as significant compared to the 90's and earlier.
I'm done watching any basketball. Butler injured. Tatum injured. Warriors going to the finals playing yet another team with an injured star. I can't ****ing stand it.
Oladipo's POA defense has been amazing, unfortunately his shot has been unimpressive. And now its a 4 point game! OMG TUcker with a huge miss layup. I'm guessing it applies to the regular season also, but is magnified even moreduring the playoffs due to the increase intensity.
