Don't disagree with you but what you said why YOU think he should be the pick, not why ROCKETS will pick him
I've covered that before Embiid, Jokic take advantage of smaller player mismatches during the season and contend for MVP, but they get their @##&$ bounced early in the playoffs as teams adjust during a 7-,game series. If those same Bigs running for MVP can't bounce out and defend the 3 better....then teams find them and force them to rotate. Pace and Space reigns supreme nowadays in the playoffs. Keep watching in future seasons and you will see I'm right. They are mixing in zone defense more as well. These trends will continue to a greater extent. I don't make the rules, just report them.
What makes you think Embiid and Jokic cant pace and space? Embiid and Jokic are better 3 pt spacers than Bam Adebayo, De Andre Ayton and Robert Williams lol so not sure why that's your conclusion. Embiid and Jokic lost cuz their team is bad, not because of them. What you can argue is hey maybe the era of super duper max players are over, and its much better to have a solid 5 topped by a superstar rather than 2 or 3 super stars and a bunch of vet mins and rookie deal guys.
They can space by hitting 3's.....but popping out to guard the 3.…not good enough. Have you seen the stat in this playoffs by Caitlin Cooper May 16th provided in Tweet? "Among the conference semifinals, Max Kleber is the only player listed at or taller than 6-foot-10 who has averaged over 25 minutes per game in the Playoffs." People can say the centers don't have enough help.....but I called that before the playoffs. Brook Lopez helped win it last season; but teams figured out that cut from the 3-pt line dive to basket. Now he has been outdated. Much like Theis who played a big part of the Celtics a few years ago... not any more. Robert Williams 6'8" as well but quicker and a better way to go. Here is Beverly and Barnes talking about Mavs attacking CP3. I also noticed CP3 dribbling past mid court and immediately passing to a teammate to facilitate. Isn't that the concept of having multiple Combo Guards out there. Each passing to each other to exploit whoever Chad the mismatch. Combo guards can do it better nowadays as they do a little more than just 6'3" and under point guards. Brunson is under contract....Mavs have to play him. But will they move on from 6'1" Brunson this summer? Move over little guy? Ivey 6'4", Jalen Green 6'5", Porter 6'6" coming your way might be the future?
I really hope the hype fools one of the top two teams into picking Ivey so that better players fall to the Rockets at 3
I don’t like Ivey over any of the big 3 either, but please don’t start on him, ala Jalen Green. If Stone picks him, I, far and away, will believe he is right and you are wrong. It’s fun to argue in a sports forum, it gets absurd when couch junkies start calling everybody out as fools and idiots.
It's not dumping on him to point out there's 3 better prospects in this class and that it would be a good thing if one of the top 2 teams bought into the hype and it led to 2 of the top 3 prospects being available at 3 rather than just 1.
The first two teams were already fooled by the Chet and Jabari hype.... The best player in this draft will fall to 3, Paolo will be a Rocket....
I like Ivey quite a bit, I think he could be very very good. If you can trade any non premium assets to get up to #4, that would be a coup.
The Rockets should stay tf away from Chet. We don't have 5 years to wait just for him to grow into his body. Plus he'll get cooked just like Sengun does by quicker guards. No thank you
Clickbait thread title! "I guarantee it!" is pretty far away from the "I wouldn’t be surprised if we drafted Ivey" in the post itself.
it’s interesting because I do think Sac-Town wants one of the big 3. And it would be a strange fit to have Fox, Ivey and Mitchell. I could see them being willing to trade #4 if they can’t move up. I could also see them trading Fox and taking Ivey. I’m sure they would want a bonifide star to move their pick, which we don’t have. Other teams are better positioned to give Sac-Town what it wants. I don’t see it happening. And I don’t see OKC moving back to #4. I still think our best potential partner to make a big trade up is Portland at #7.
#17, 2024 Nets pick (lotto protected), Gordon, Nwaba to Portland. Wood+#7 to Sac #4 to Houston. For the purpose of this hypotgetical, ORL takes Paolo. #3-Smith #4-Ivey Sengun/Garuba KMJ Smith Jr/Tate Green/Ivey KPJ/Nix For 2022-2023 at least.
this same guy is fighting on twitter that the rockets have to take Ivey, i really wish we got pick #2 so that all this "take ivey" talk will be dead.
Sure Ivy's upside is enticing as hell but if the Rockets really wanted a point guard, I'd rather take Kennedy Chandler at 17. It wouldn't surprise me if he becomes the best PG in the draft and the best fit on the this team.
