Getting sht on for thinking outside the box and connecting dots - only on CFans!! (Im not a racist I have a Pilipino friend! LOL) Mark my words Jalen will bring Spoelstra here when its time to win rings.
Spo seems pretty comfortable over there in MIA. Uniting because of ethnicity seems like an odd reason. If they do end up together, might be Green going over to him, than Spo coming here. Either way; it likely would be because of basketball reasons, no? I don't follow Green on social media, know very little of his personal life. Does he speak the language or eat the food ...etc? While it's nice, NBA celebrates and he acknowledging the heritage, he's a quarter Filipino. 3rd generation (on mom's side)? He seems like a regular normal American kid. Most 2nd/3rd gen immigrant kids I know don't speak their mother/grandmother's tongue. Nothing wrong with embracing heritage, and I don't doubt he has that international fan base, but I think certain fan bases may reach for the smallest linkage. Spolestra coming to coach a player because that player is a quarter Filipino seems reaching.
What ratio of Pinoy Jalen Green is has no bearing. He embraces that heritage and is on record saying he's "excited to represent the Philippines in the NBA". Add to that how much Spoelstra had googly eyes for him during the All Star break and buddying up to him about going back to the Philippines to do charity work with Clarkson and Dwayne Wade. Very much seemed star struck to me at least. Apply a little deductive reasoning and boom! I get called a Tucker Carlson racist for even mentioning it!!! LMAO I think there is something there and it wont be Jalen bouncing to MIA .. Every coach runs their course and once the stars from that team start to lose their luster if anyone can entice the best coach in the NBA to bring his talents to Polk Street it would make sense for it to be Jalen. Fairy tale? Maybe.
Making the linkage isn't racist in my opinion, I just personally don't think it's enough a reason for people move their jobs. Riley is getting up there in age. If Spo ever gets tired of coaching, I can see MIA do a 'brad stevens', and promote Spolestra to the front office (GM / president / senior front office position). Anyways, I don't want to derail the thread, carry on.
playing sengun, and other players, to their weaknesses and playing him 6 minutes a night in a tanking year
He wants to be a head coach, there is no reason to leave golden state unless it's a Job to be a head coach.
