Paul George re-signing with OKC gave an insane rebuild package, then gets COVID and gives OKC the number 12 pick this year. Insane.
This is a great article with TONS of info. The offseason focus and emphasis on DEFENSE just heartens me to no end. If Rockets do not draft 2 way elite defenders then I will be dismayed by all this talk. Got my fingers crossed that the rumors to entice Bzdelik back to Rockets are legit. And if Augmon is added to coaching staff then that is clear indicator that Wood is in Stone's plans as core of rebuild and will get paid. I can hear the collective groan in CF already. Adding Abdelfattah is a no brainer - just a slam dunk.
I absolutely love everything about this kid. Stone just needs to find a way to get him. Trade up, trade a player, whatever it takes - just find way to acquire Tari Eason.
Agreed, that bodies well for his commitment to improve. Garuba looking great as well + EGo very engaged and present.
Dumping on Jabari to pump up Paolo is a bad look. And Jabari developing his handle is less critical to his role as 3-D specialist versus Paolo having to improve his 3P% and become an AVERAGE defender in his role as wing/forward.
More I think about it, keep seeing KPJ Green and Banchero running teams off the court and just overpowering them with speed, skill, athleticism. It’s exciting times whoever we get. I want the bigs but Paolo will be a great player.
I agree. Defense will be a real problem, but with KPJ, Green, Sengun, and Banchero that should be a LOT of scoring.
I think ball movement would be fine. Sengun, KPJ, and even Bancharo have decent passing ability and Green showed some strides late this season and is likely to get even better.
I meant there should be better ball movement with Banchero's addition. There will be a ton of scoring and passing options with this lineup: PG - KPJ SG - Green SF - Banchero PF - Wood C - Sengun
The only way I play Banchero at SF is if we get him to agree to lose weight back to his high school size.
True, but I also don't want anything to do with Wood being on the roster past this summer, so that would be my primary objection with that lineup.
He already plays like a SF despite his weight. Wood is the better rim protector. That's saying something. And Rockets will have to play zone defense imo.
CF will be miserable AF before trade deadline then. And if Augmon signed to coaching staff then kiss those hopes of moving him goodbye.
Wood, Tate and EG have to be gone imo. I want to roll with KPJ/Nix Green/JC Banchero(if he lose weight)/Gary bird KJ/ Usman Sengun/Fernando
