I've really like him and hope we trade up to get him... We need to get more asset consolidation minded... given the rate we're adding rookies these days... and he's an ideal target.
IF ONLY SILAS PLAYED SENGUN MORE REAL GAMES instead of 6 minutes, 12 minutes a night so we know better what we have in him...
This is amazing news. One day it will come out that @Medicine N Music is actually just Rafael Stone trying to get a feel on how the fanbase would react to a move
Mathurin "plays big" with his 6'10 wingspan, but you're right, he's better seen as a SG. And this is a crowded market in this draft. There is any number of options for teams looking for young wings/guards with decent size and skill. See Mathurin, Braun, Agabaji, Daniels, Beauchamp, Hardy, etc. Given the right setting, you could see any number of these guys succeeding in the league as contributors.
At this rate we might have to get into the top 10 to have a chance at him. After Murray the prospect order is anyone’s guess.
I think they should trade down from 3 and somehow get Eason and Sochan. It'll be like having 2 Scottie Barnes'.
Mannn if he slips (which he probably wont) I'd absolutely love for us to move up to grab. He may be gone by picks 5-7 though.
I have been preaching Tari Eason for a while now (https://bbs.clutchfans.net/threads/...round-targets-with-the-heat-nets-pick.313999/). My comp for him is Patrick Williams. I think he would be perfect at the 4 next to Sengun. His length and mobility would really compliment Al-P. I agree that 17 is likely too low to get him. Need to move up to 10-15.
I don't know much about Tari Eason, but from this thread I approve. No matter who it is, Rockets should be targeting a forward who profiles as a future 3-D player, emphasis on the D, with the 3 as something to be developed (if a player had both they likely don't fall this far). Anything else would be disappointing UNLESS someone that is too talented happens to fall and they are impossible to pass up. Unless somehow Rockets get Jabari, it's looking very likely that Rockets young top tier talent will be offensively gifted and at best defensively adequate, which means we need to spend as many bites at the apple as we can on defense and shooting around them to make this team work.
@Medicine N Music you are our prophet, if you speak the Eason pick to us into existence, you are a first ballot HOF Clutchfans member!
Eason has some big hands..... they aren't mitts like Rondo or Leonard.... they are just incredibly wide, his actual palm (not fingers) actually absorbs the ball. Big hands are good for defense and usually passing the ball but not always shooting.
