Given the donor, this is a D&D thread.

But regardless of reason, glad UH is getting some cash.

Slide a little bit of that cash to Marcus Sasser and Kenny Lofton Jr. now.

Seriously. One thing all new med schools are is underfunded. Hopefully it gives that med school a fighting chance.

Med school naming rights have exploded in the last decade or so. Growing up I don't remember any named medical schools in Texas and now there's:
    UT Houston (McGovern)
    UTMB (Sealy)
    UT San Antonio (Long)
    UT Austin (Dell)
    UH (Fertitta)

I guess the logic is take the cash grab while it's available.

I would like to ask for his legal definition of donation first.

It all started with the new med school in Austin. The Dell family only committed to spending 50 million over 10 years which is frankly chump change for them. And in return, that donation got their name permanently tied to a premier med school. Once they set the price, everyone else figured that the ROI on donating to a med school was better than pretty much anything else due to your name living on the school forever.
