Where are you seeing 35% on catch and shoot in NCAA.
As for the last part, no I’m saying how can he be a good 3 pt shooter in the league when the only place he’s even average at is spot up shooting?
If he’s starting the play (his strengths) he won’t be doing much catch and shooting, theoretically speaking.
If he is parked in the corner it limits his value.

Paolo is so talented, he’s going to bring the ball up, get a screen at the top of the key. Drive to the hole and kick out to……….himself, for the 36% corner 3!!!!!
    Amazing

If he's not doing much catch and shooting, I don't see what the problem is. The point is he won't have a high volume 3pt role to begin with but he can hit the open 3 with some consistency and should improve on that. Again, Jason Tatum shot only a little better than Bancharo during his tenure at Duke. It's really a little early.
Should we talk about Jabari Smith scoring a record low 14% at the rim this year. I mean if you really want to know what below average looks like...

How does everyone feel knowing Stone is drafting players who are friends with each other?

I agree with you here. Then I don’t understand your issue with me stating he’s not a good 3 pt shooter?!
    What was your point?

Edit* And I have issues with Jabari and Chet too. I think there’s more upside with them, more projection. Just my opinion and I could be completely wrong, I just personally think Paolo is close to a finished product skill wise.

um, as long as he's not doing it BECAUSE they are friends, we should feel pretty good, right?

He's an average three point shooter given his role and volume and stats back that up. I don't see why that wouldn't improve over time, the dude is a workhorse. You were comparing him to Sengun and telling me that they would both shoot the same percentage in the NBA eventually. Based on the numbers you gave out. You basically said that Banchero's shooting potential is pretty much already capped while suggesting Sengun will make a quantum leap forward at the same time even though Sengun for the most part plays in the post and Banchero already makes a living in the midrange game, making shots with a much higher degree of difficulty. That is just silly man and you know it. At any rate, anyone who is high on Bancharo isn't drafting him for his shooting.

If you don't like that, you don't like Rockets basketball :D
Seriously though, we started arguing before we even picked a player. For all we know Stone likes Ivey and picks him 3rd lol. Either way we should be glad we got the 3rd instead of 5th pick.

Hmmm...well I predicted one of these guys might try to fall to us especially with OKC being 2nd, guess it could be Paolo.

I said I don’t see either of them being good or above average shooters.
I think both are capped at average 3 pt shooters, which would be a win for both of them.
Sengun is farther away, I think he has less time working on them than Paolo does which inherently gives him more upside.

Would you prefer they be enemies or not know one another?

Getting guys that want to be here is key. They're more likely to buy in and hold each other accountable. We are building something special!

In what world does working on something less give you more upside? Paolo has yet to play 1 game in the NBA. Sengun isn't even reliable enough from midrange which is typically the first step. That is something already PB already excels in. You were hoping that Segun could get to 36% from three on catch and shoot. I can't imagine a situation where he would take any other kind of 3. I can imagine PB taking 3's off the dribble because he has already shown flashes of that. You are already banking for a huge improvement from Sengun to get to 36% and that may or may not ever happen. Paolo already shot that percentage. You don't think he can improve even a little bit? If Sengun can make a quantum leap forward, why can't PB make the same leap? Oh yea thats right because he's just been doing it for longer and we all know that when you work at things longer it hurts your potential.

It’s part of the training differences between the two.
Sengun has been a post up guy primarily with less time working on 3 pt shooting. Every player coming up through the AAU systems are working 3s.
Paolo could reach higher levels, it would be great for the Rockets if he did. I would root for him as hard as anyone if he’s a Rocket.
I just personally think he’s close to a finished product, again, I could be completely wrong.

I don't know if its been posted in this long thread but Woj did say that it looks like Orlando is choosing between Jabari and Chet because they are already satisfied with their shot creators...so I could definitely see Chet making his way to OKC.

Also considering that OKC was MADLY in love with Mobley last draft. Not that they are that similar players, Chet is definitely IMO coming in with more of an offensive game than Mobley was, but the defensive prospect too.

If what Woj says is true about Orlando picking between Jabari and Chet, which tbh can be changed after workouts and meetings, then there is a very good chance Paolo is the one that falls to us. I'm just going by Presti's history of drafting bigs too, he seems to really value defense at those positions.
