They've got to get past the Warriors first. While I would actually prefer to see Dallas in the finals than Golden State again, my money is on Curry, Klay and Draymond.
they managed to build a pretty complete team that was capable of being top 5 in both offense and defense…they choked in embarrassing fashion this year, but they were a contender Rockets could have Jalen Green for the next 8 years plus however many draft picks and not build a single contending caliber team…I pray that’s not the case
You do realize that only 25 teams in the history of the league have won 64 or more games ? Now go count the number of seasons each of those teams spent in the lottery acquiring the players that won those 64+ games .... Most 60 Win Teams In A Single Season | StatMuse
3 other moronic GMs passed on a generational talent and Luka fell in their laps and prior to this year, they hadn't gone past the first round since they won the title even though they kept making the playoffs with Dirk
This thread is a good example of why Adam Silver wants to have the mid-season tournament. Many fans have no interest in regular season games and only count championships as a measure of success. The NBA should try to emulate European soccer, give out a trophy to the team that finishes with the best regular season record.
I don't agree with this because Devin Booker IS special. It's amazing what a playoff loss and narrative does to players reputations. If the Suns had pulled out this series and not lost in game 7, the narrative would be how great Booker was for gutting it out through injury. CP3 would be renowned for his vegan diet defying age, not getting clowned by PBev about how he can't guard anyone and is washed again.
Would you consider helping the Suns out of or endure their cap pain? #3 for Ayton and maybe one more player/pick. I would if we were on the clock and Chet was the last of the big 3 left.
No thanks, I like Ayton but he wants a max deal. We would be hitching our wagon in a sense to him and would really need to make him a focal point of the offense to get your money's worth. Is that worth giving up the cap space when Chet can fill the role of a stretch big, with superior rim protection, who can also catch lobs and hopefully rebound at a moderately high clip for a fraction of the price? I dont think so, and im not as high on Chet as others. Stay the course with building through the draft and save the cap space for someone truly special.
I mean the hawks just went to the ECF a year ago. The suns went to the nba finals. The kings well we know they're dumb Meanwhile, luka and dallas haven't made it out of the 1st round with Luka until this year
I would absolutely love this! Especially if we keep #3. We could then take Ivey Ivey Green Kmart JR Seng Ayton KPJ Christopher Mathews Tate Garuba Nix Picks Hell of a young team. If they did all that and canned Silas it would be an A++++ off season
You mean how do we get to the finals and become the best team in the league the year after? Luka said he wouldn't sign with Phoenix if drafted. Drafts are tough, the bad luck with Bender may have made them less interested in Luka. They drafted and developed Booker, Ayton, Bridges and Johnson. Not bad by any stretch of the imagination. They brought in Payne and helped mature him as a player. They overpaid for Paul, but a lot of people have been guilty about that. They have a quiet, hardworking team. Booker turned the Mavericks series into a one on one battle with Luka and that is why they lost. I like their culture, except for what I saw out of Booker against the Mavs. If we draft a great big to play along Green, we will be in great shape. If we get a true point to lead the team, a three guard look would be really interesting to roll out with Green, KPJ, and ideally a 6' 6" PG.
Find guys who can go get you buckets at will. Play smart team defense. Win rings. No specialists needed (who is rim protector for GS - Draymond?). Become great at team concepts. Notice all the midrange shots?
