Do we really want to take on more prospects? Jaygup and Sengun both need more minutes. I don't see EG and Wood being off this team until maybe trade deadline.
More prospects, no. Better prospects (assuming #3 and #5 picks rated closely in value), yes. I'd guess the Rockets keep or trade up with #17 if they keep the #3 pick. If they have the #5 and #7 picks, they would likely make another trade such that they still end up with 2 picks at most.
No I don't think so, but we should make a move for Sacramento's #4 pick with a bunch of our assets. That's a great way to accelerate (end?) the rebuild.
Idk if alot of y'all are aware of this but Ivey is a 6'-4" guard. A GUARD! We have plenty of those in case y'all missed the games
That's part of the trade and the problem. You don't know if they'll both be there. So now do you make the trade? I mean, if you had a guarantee that players you wanted both would be there at 5 and 7, it makes it too easy. What if somebody drafts Murray at #4 or Mathurin at #6?
I’ve read this 3 times by the 3rd act I still don’t understand what you mean or you’re point. I’ve seen the movie too lol
I'm not saying we should draft Ivey, but that thinking is what got Kings in the mess they are in. When you are rebuilding, you draft BPA. If Stone thinks Ivey is the BPA, then we should draft him.
Sharpe and Paolo with 5th and 7th would be fine. Not best case, but would do that in a heartbeat over keeping the #3.
I would do this if Jabari is gone. We would be in the playoffs next year and still set up for the future.
I’d rather keep #3 and trade up from #17, or keep #3 and trade out of the draft pushing our 2nd pick to a future draft.
if i am miami heat with a dedicated leadership, culture and coach you absolutely do it...they do great things even with undrafted guys, mid teen and late FRPs......whether they get pick no 3, 5 or 7 is irrelevant...more is better...they know how to develop... in rockets case its hard to decide...
Murray and Mathurin are just best case scenario imo. I assume in your scenario that Ivey would be there at 5 and Duren at 7...maybe even reach on Williams given his combine measurements. I would rather have a combination of any of these guys and bet that at least one pans out vs putting my eggs all in one basket...unless that basket is Chet.
Taking 2 shots at getting a superstar is not bad, but we already have a TON of young star hopeful players and we need to find out if they are it.....also if you have defined ONE player in this years draft and he falls to us, you take him. DD
