When Tesla issues software updates, they have to legally call it a recall. The car updates itself automatically in the garage. Source: Me I own two

Wow, that's like magic! Now I wish I had an overheating screen that isn't really a recall!

Those Teslas are going to have to download a lot of RAM to stay cool.

No passive aggressiveness. I'll explain it : Whether something is called a "recall" or not in the car industry doesn't necessarily indicate its severity. There have been recalls on cars simply due to the safety certification sticker indicating the wrong weight on a car (omg, a sticker shows the wrong weight - we're gonna die!). There are more serious problems on cars that never are recalled but have TSB's by the manufacturer on them (such as transmission or engine issues). But what was weird is that this is a recall and you're stating because it was a software fix, it's not really a recall (?). That sounded humorous. Then you had to throw in the fact you own two Teslas for some reason as if that proves it's "not really a recall" or as if nobody'd believe Teslas can get OTA updates. :D

Maybe competition doesn't need to come at all and we can all go back to focusing on ICE cars...

Probably would go for a hybrid next, then electric. My little Rav4 doesn't get great gas mileage. OK though.

Despite having moved its headquarters from California and despite having just opened a brand new factory in Austin, Tesla has once again been left out in the cold in Texas, this time when it comes to electric vehicle (EV) rebates.

According to Laura Lopez, the media and community relations manager for TCEQ, the reason Tesla is not included is because of the state’s antiquated franchise dealer law which require vehicles to be purchased through an in-state dealer and not directly from the manufacturer.

“The program currently requires that eligible vehicles must be purchased or leased from a licensed new vehicle dealer or leasing company in Texas. Under Texas law, vehicles purchased directly from the manufacturer or an out-of-state dealer not licensed to sell or lease new vehicles in Texas are not eligible for a rebate,” Lopez told The Center Square.

    excerpt:

Electric Last Mile Solutions (ELMS), an electric vehicle startup, has announced it has filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy.

“Ultimately, the Board determined, following a comprehensive review with the assistance of the Company’s outside advisors, and upon the recommendation of the Company’s management, that it is in the best interest of the Company and the Company’s stockholders, stakeholders, creditors, and other interested parties to file for Chapter 7 relief,” ELMS said in a statement.
