Haha - sure that frontcourt is terribly ill suited to play together in any era of the NBA, let alone this one, but " we'll make it up on volume "
I’ve wanted Wood gone for the longest. No hate towards the guy but it is what it is. The problem is Wood THINKS he’s Anthony Davis or Giannis but he’s just not. If he can come back to reality then maybe there can be a spot for him but I doubt it.
I mean, I could see several scenarios involving Wood and a trade up. What about Wood and 17 for PJ Walker, Plumlee, and 13?
I think the problem with Wood, is that he signed on to be a Franchise level player on the Rockets. It’s just Harden didn’t buy into it, and wanted out. So after the nice win streak after Harden got traded, the Wood led Rocket have pretty much flopped. So this year the Rockets dangled the keys in front of Green, and he’s taken those keys for himself. Green looked every bit the part as a potential superstar. But Wood still thinks he’s the franchise player, and he’s going to bolt in free agency, because the Rockets are not going to give him a near max contract. So, if Rockets want value for Wood, it might be in their interest to try and trade him; but not give him away.
Wood is a weird guy, I don't think he has a lot of value around the league, but he has value in Houston where he is WAY outperforming his contract. 18-10 on 50% fg and 39% 3pters is pretty amazing. He is a turnstyle on D, but our entire team was/is.... Also, he rarely plays with another big - Sengun is slow to rotate when they do play together and Tate is just not big enough. I wanted Chet as I think he solves that rim protection thing, but without him, and us getting Banchero (More than likely) at least between him and Wood you have 2 bigs on the floor - and at times maybe 3..... Perhaps we can go get Mo-Bamba if Orlando takes Chet....... I would keep Wood and see if this year, when he KNOWS we aren't flopping if the D doesn't improve. DD
I wonder if the King's are still fools when it comes to trades. They only have like 7 Power Forwards on their team and could really use 1 more to get a nice even number. I'm willing to offer them Wood along with the 17th Pick for the 4th Pick. Then we take Ivey with the 4th. KPJ moves to the 2nd unit as punishment for the BS he did this year.
His attitude is cancerous to younger players who we're trying to turn into pros. He cannot be traded soon enough.
Come on, no one thinks that - he has character flaws, and he is intermittent in his hustling. I still think that can be cleaned up by accountability and leadership. DD
It's not that amazing to put up big traditional #s on a bad team. People do it every year. I guarantee you if there's a stat for "proportion of double doubles earned while down double digits" Wood would lead the league
Well no doubt about that, our entire team would lead the league in being down double digits.... I just don't think you can get much for him - and his stats outweigh anything we could get back. DD
This argument only works for raw numbers. It does not work for shooting percentages and advanced stats.
Which advanced stats is he in the top 20 or even top 50 in the leauge in? Great he's a good stretch big man! So was Ryan Anderson once upon a time. Next.

I'm imagining it and it's not pretty. If Sengun is far and away the best defender in your front court you're pretty effed. I do think that having defense that terrible would go a long way towards possibly getting us Wembanyama or Scoot. So it's not all bad.
I voted to trade for additional draft capital, but I don't care what we trade him for. I just want to make sure he's traded. Whether we end up with Jabari, Chet, or Paolo, I don't see how Wood's presence does anything but cause problems.
