ETA: Johnny was using a Hi-Point 9mm. How many times did it jam and how many magazines did Johnny have to use? How many rounds were left in the last magazine?

Probably more along the lines of, Buck was a slave for 5 years. In the same 5 years, Joffrey earned $6000. Who had the most money after 5 years?

    Or...

Mr and Mrs White had their house appraised at $800,000 for their loan. Mr and Mrs Black who live one block away in the same subdivision had their nicer house appraised at $400,000. Which couple will receive more money on their cash out refinance?

Teaching about the GI Bill in WW2 not being available to African Americans is just history not CRT.

Texas conservatives taking aim at CRT see big wins in school board elections

The battle over controversial topics like critical race theory is leading to big wins for conservative school board candidates in Texas. Conservatives across the state were taking a victory lap Monday.

"Conservatives won school board elections across Texas. The power of parents will continue to expand in Texas,” Gov. Greg Abbott tweeted.

School board elections have been dominated by culture wars recently. Targeting the alleged teaching of critical race theory and investigations into controversial books has proven to be a winning strategy for conservative campaigns in Texas and beyond.

NBC News is tracking more than 40 candidates in 20 suburban Texas school board elections focused on culture war issues like banning critical race theory.

"And so we have a number of parents who are enraged by some of the content that they see in the schools and they’re turning out and in a low-turnout election, that’ll make a really big difference, especially in these types of local school board elections,” said Todd Belt, director of the Political Management Program at George Washington University.

The 1776 Project, a New York-based political action committee, called Saturday “a clean sweep” after funneling out-of-state campaign cash to more than a dozen races.

"All fifteen of our endorsed candidates in Texas school board races won their elections on Saturday,” the organization tweeted.

Congratulations to all the voters who voted on a topic that isn't in Texas public school curriculums. Talk about sheep.

Is Critical Race praxis taught in Texas public school curriculums? Is the pedagogy informed by Critical Race theory? Are there any classrooms that teach about whiteness? About white privilege? About permanent American racism? That being "color blind" or having "equality under the law" are tools of oppression?

    No.

Do you know how hard and long it takes to develop a pedagogy and the same pedagogy has been used for a while now since CRT was a thing?

Don't you think the Republicans would be all over the pedagogy if it was CRT-based?

This is pretty far out even for you.

Who teaches that being "color blind" or having "equality under the law" are tools of impression?

Lengthy but informative videos. Was never taught any of this. I don't recall it even being a footnote in history books through college during my education but it should be taught at least at the college level, including AP History in high school.

That's SEL, and some are, most don't really know what it is, but they do know that it started going sideways before CRT

CRT is taught under that umbrella, doesn't have to be, any level of BS can be taught out of that monster, the protesting enviro kids, aka the Greta's of the world come out of it too.

And the "social emotional" is about as positive to the social and emotional states of these children as the "democratic people's republic" of korea is democratic, or a republic

This is taught in most U.S. History it's called Reconstruction, and it goes into sharecropping and Jim Crow laws, this is nothing new.

CRT is not taught under the umbrella of SEL and I don't know why you think SEL is a monster and I certainly don't know what enviro kids and Gereta's have to do with any of this.

For anybody that wants to know what SEL is.

"Social emotional learning (SEL) is a methodology that helps students of all ages to better comprehend their emotions, to feel those emotions fully, and demonstrate empathy for others."

And this is not taught in any classes, it's just a way for teachers to connect individually with their students It's something you might get a 1/2 day seminar on and nobody actually uses it.

I had no idea this was causing angst for some.

Really? The claim in the video is the last slave freed didn't end until the 1940s and really only in order to avoid looking like hypocrites when pointing out the mistreatment of Jewish people and other minorities by the Germans or Japanese mistreatment of China and other South Eastern Asian countries leading up to World War 2.

It explains the stereotype that black people are statistically more likely to commit crimes with black codes and how they were enforced which then introduced debt peonage slavery post 13th Amendment and how even though the 13th Amendment did abolish slavery, it never made it a crime to own slaves, so it persisted decades after the Civil War in the South, including the state of Texas. How post-Civil War slavery was actually much worse towards the well being of a slave since renting one was cheap enough for poor people and since they were so cheap to be had, people often worked them to death since it was cheaper to buy a new slave than consider the well being of a slave during antebellum days.

How Andrew Johnson post-Lincoln assassination took away reparations for freed slaves that served in the army for the North and made lives and well beings of black people post-Civil War a continued after thought that would persist in the mistreatment of at least 1/5th of the 4 million freed black slaves into continued slavery well into the 1940s.

The rulings of Supreme Court justices that interpreted the Constitution to not consider the equality of treatment and citizenship of former slaves leading up the early 1900s, meaning the law of the land was just as fallible back then as they are today, which challenges the whole idea of the Founding Fathers and the Supreme Court as these mythically wise people who considered the well being of all American citizens, which is 100% untrue, and that is addressed directly to counter the Prager U kids videos that try to spin America as always being the land of the free and that all people are truly treated equal. And again, much of this was NOT covered during my education even in college, to the level of detail discussed in the video. At best it was a single paragraph footnote on a corner of a page that cozily discussed the topics in the video that my history teachers very likely glossed over to address some other topics they deemed more important instead.

Here's what I remember from my college History class decades ago. Ben Franklin loved French prostitutes. Like a lot. There. That's what I remember from my history education.

SEL functions like the operating system on which they can condition kids with all the dumb ideas, CRT being one of them, SEL is to what it purports to be what the Democratic People's Republic of Korea is to democracy and republics (and these two ideas, share the same root ideology), ie it's a load of **** and produces the opposite of what its claiming to do.

Part of its whole function is to make kids disbelieve their own senses and instead believe what they are being told they are experiencing, to weaponize, sorry wait "promote" empathy, of course distancing a person from their own intuition will never produce such an outcome, unless said desired outcome is deranged as its built in assumptions, particularly about said intuition have no basis in reality.

CRT is in no way exclusive to SEL, it needs the stooge level of brain function to propagate that SEL produces, but CRT could disappear tomorrow, however since the real issue would still exist, another series of dumb ideas would simply take its place in same way CRT jumped in over the Gretaverse in many places (no it was not normal for 15 yos to engage in political protests about things they surely didn't understand and surely weren't thoughts they put in their own head).
