Basically yeah. ESPN has Banchero at 250 and Sengun at 243. But at their size playing the wing is ridiculous.
That’s my main concern. If Paolo can lean up, then maybe he can play there some but man, that’s a big if
I get it. I am not enamored with Banchero's shot right now either, but I feel it can improve. That said watching Chet he doesn't seem like he would ever be a guy who will be creating for himself or others reliably on the perimeter in the NBA. Banchero has that ability and has the NBA body already. I feel Banchero can also get stronger much easier than Chet can and his passing skills are simply better. I think him and Sengun could play together well. Also let's not short change Banchero. He did end up at 34% from 3
Chet is going to surprise so many people with his face up game. He played his role at Gonzaga, but he has a lot in his bag.
But at the 4 playing the pnr with KPJ and Green he’s going to be fantastic. Not only can he drive to the hoop but he can find the open man too. Just need an elite 3 and D SF and a Myles Turner type C who can defend and rim run. Wish we could draft Smith as well as Paolo.
The Rockets changed the game by playing inside-out with Dream and then volume 3s with layups and foul shots when we had Harden. Time to do it again. Jalen, Sengun, KPJ, KMJ, Josh, and maybe Banchero, maybe Jabari. Let's have a combo of midrange, Webber/Divac era passing, and elite skills on the perimeter. Take basketball back and use all of the offensive end of the court. This is shaping up as a team of destiny, a team of saviors.
Unless the rockets trade some of their assets I dont really see how they do not have a top 10 pick next season. Are you really supposed to play 5-6 20 years olds, and 2-3 22 year olds and not??
One good thing about not getting Chet. No player from Gonzaga has ever led his team to an NBA title. Stockton is still the best ever out of that school (no rings but much success otherwise). Sabonis has also been decent but no rings. Turiaf, Olynyk, Sacre and the atrocious Adam Morrison speaks for itself. And Jabari is related to Kwame Brown. So maybe Banchero is the guy
Rockets going to end up having a lot of celebrities showing up to our games in the future we are going to have one of the most entertaining back count and front count by 2023.
Banchero's stats during March Madness (pressure time)... 5 games, 18.8 PPG, 7.6 RPG, 3.4 APG, 52.6 3PT%, 50.0 FG% I'm just saying.
if the Rockets have a top 10 pick next season, then it is what it is…that’s different than going into next season with the sole purpose of tanking and trying to lose as much as possible
He was by far the most impressive player in the tournament. He did get his team further than anyone else in the top 4 and he was also the best player on his team. Not saying that he's BPA but people acting like we're doomed are just overreacting
i think there’s like a 10% chance. So not probable. The one thing that I think is perhaps a bit of a plus on that is that sometimes college ball can just be so half court , slower (with the shot clock), etc that is something that in some ways “slowed” Paolo. like there are clips of his high school Paolo that have him looking more like a SF to me because while high school can also be quite slower at times, there’s an element to it where Paulo was so good and his team too that a lot of those high school games might have had more of an nba style to it which is a bit faster which contributed to him looking more like a SF… idk just spitballing.
