Ayton defense was a weakness coming out of college, especially rim protection - nevermind switch/perimeter defense. Ayton NBA comp was DeMarcus friggin Cousins. Ayton strength is "bucket getting" - even better scorer than Banchero coming out of draft. https://syndication.bleacherreport....couting-report-for-phoenix-suns-pick.amp.html And compare their advanced stats, especially on defense, ridiculously and overwhelmingly favors Chet. https://www.tankathon.com/players/compare?players=paolo-banchero--chet-holmgren--deandre-ayton You really going full Tucker Carlson on me man. But you're just asking questions/wondering amirite?
Did you read his last sentence? When shot NOT falling - high level defense and rebounding make a difference.
But we don't have one or 2, that's the point and we definitely don't have anyone with size who can do it. Its much easier to find defense later in the draft, so it's not at the expense of defense anyway. Your big board sucks. Banchero.
LOL KD stresses offensive efficiency and defensive effort. Not Banchero. And elite 2 way players not easily found late in draft.
I was hoping it was something else, not that junk stat that says more about the surrounding players than the player himself. And oh yeah Banchero's BPM was higher against top 20 teams than Holmgrens which should really give you pause if you think this stat means anything.
Ivey gets around the corner faster than anyone I have seen since Iverson. That doesn't mean he will be a star, but it gives an idea of the type of quickness he has, and he also has good body control usually. A lot of tools there to be an elite scorer, and that type of quickness will make it easier for him to develop as a creator as well. Nice wingspan will also make him a good defender if he puts in the time. The team he played on had terrible spacing for him.
I have no idea why you harping on Banchero's efficiency as if it is terrible. Its easy to be efficient if you are mainly spotting up and shooting putbacks. And nothing is wrong with his defensive effort, it's just people looking for holes in his game and pumping up thier guy.
So Banchero's single digit BPM for the season (7.7) was primarily because he stunk it up vs inferior teams???? I'd rather have the guy with DOUBLE the BPM (15.0) who takes care of teams he is SUPPOSED to beat. https://www.tankathon.com/players/compare?players=paolo-banchero--chet-holmgren Can only play the teams you play, Chet not responsible for the teams on his schedule.
Banchero is not very offensively efficient, I did not make that up. And we already know that he is a low effort inconsistent defender. Do your own due diligence.
Who cares about a college metric This is B.S. I can't believe people are still trying to say this. The 2nd basket he creates his own shot, just stop man.
