This has Achilles written all over it. He knew the moment he went down. Jake was really putting it together too. On the Astros side they are fortunate to still have 5 quality starters.
What's the rules here? If the offense had gotten one more run out of that bases loaded no outs situation and they didn't resume this game tonight then would the Astros have won since 5 innings have been played? Or do they resume the game tomorrow regardless under new rules?
Not sure I would put Javier in thr quality starter column. Maybe day 5 is a bullpen day? LMJ is too far out. Too bad Whitley ended up being a bust. Could have used him by now. I don’t know the Astros farm system all that well. Is there anyone in AAA that may be big league ready? Or have we traded most of that away the last few years ?
Not sure if he's ready but Hunter Brown is the next prospect that's most likely become a starter. If no one got hurt, probably next season but with Odorizzi down and McCullers a question mark, maybe we see him in the near future. Also won't call Whitley a bust yet. He claims he had some sort of discomfort before he had tjs. Claims he feels better now. I'll give him 1 last shot before I put him in the bust category. Also anyone know when he'll start throwing??
"out with leg discomfort" That's just disrespectful. Wise move not to start la tormenta in this tormenta with wet grass, dirt.
Not ready to sound the alarm on Maton, but let him rest. He's been way too overused lately, and that has to play a factor. Relievers don't have the stamina that starters do.
So, the announcer on MLB just said he felt bad for Barnes because nothing was hit hard. I guess he conveniently forgot Castro hit a double to the wall.
