Cruz and every Republican voted against saving Trucker's pension. In Canada and here, the Trucker unions are against these protests. Protesters are a small group of idiots that don't even realize who support them and who use them as a political tool. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Butch_Lewis_Act https://www.wsj.com/articles/truckers-may-see-boost-from-pandemic-aids-pension-lifeline-11616167934 Unionized trucking companies could get a lift from a provision of the $1.9 trillion coronavirus aid package that throws a fiscal lifeline to struggling multiemployer pension plans. Analysts say the measure President Biden signed into law this month should help clear a cloud that investors see hanging over truckers ArcBest Corp. and Yellow Corp. The unionized carriers are the top two active employers in the largest of the plans likely eligible for relief, the Teamsters’ Central States Pension Fund, which is projected to become insolvent in 2025.
Just like Veterans for Trump, those truckers are stupid to think the GOP stands behind them. When it comes to making things better for them the GOP doesn't want to spend the money.
In victory for Sen. Ted Cruz, Supreme Court strikes down campaign loan repayment limits The Supreme Court on Monday struck down a federal restriction that applied to candidates who loan large amounts of money to their own political campaigns, a victory for Sen. Ted Cruz, the Texas Republican who challenged it. In a 6-3 ruling, the court said the law, adopted in 2002, was a violation of a political candidate’s free expression, applying longstanding rulings that said because money buys the ability to spread a political message, limits on expenditures implicate the First Amendment. Under the law at issue, candidates who contributed money to their own campaigns could be paid back from the pool of other campaign contributions. But the repayments were capped at $250,000. Sen Cruz loaned his re-election campaign $260,000 — intentionally going above the limit in order to trigger a legal challenge — when then-Rep. Beto O’Rourke ran against him in 2018.
This ****ing Supreme court. Money is speech, but the right to privacy is judicial activism. Hypocrites.
On one hand, decision makes sense given previous decisions. On the other hand, I worry that our complete inability to regulate money in politics is going to have some very negative consequences for the future of the republic. (The global elites you so adamantly oppose have lots of money they can use to set the political order, btw).
I know reading and reading comprehension is difficult for you. It didn't say anything about what people care about. It said the decision is intensely more important than anything going on in that s*** show. Just because it involves celebrities doesn't make it important to anyone other than the 2 idiots involved.
The Johnny Depp decision is pretty important Disney wronged him with the pirates of the Caribbean and so did that Fantastic beasts movie they owe Johnny millions
