Metchie's scouting report reads like Antonio Brown (pre-insanity). Brown wasn't a high-end speedster but an ultra-elite route runner. Metchie's focus drops are a concern however -- but seems easily fixable.

What in the world. When something happens involving our teams, it happens big and of nowhere. That is just awful for him.

Horrible news for him, seems like a great kid. Hopefully it is as curable as they say, and he can get healthy soon.

The good news is this form of leukemia appears to have a 90% remission rate. So for someone as young and healthy as Metchie he should be able to come back in 2023 at 100%.

Well, if the Texans have proven anything over the years, they stick by their players with cancer. Weird that there has been more than one.

Get well and your health is first and foremost.

    Time to bring in Beasley.

This is crazy. I know all about this very rare form of leukemia. Last year my 91 year old father was diagnosed with APL. Most doctors, including many oncologists, have never treated people with this form of leukemia. Only about 800 people per year are diagnosed with APL in the United States. It wasn’t long ago that APL was the deadliest form of leukemia, with patients living only a few months. Now APL is the most curable type of leukemia, with most patients making a full recovery. My father is in a full remission and it’s unlikely that the leukemia will return.

The treatment does last for about 8 months and it usually involves two drugs. Arsenic trioxide is given through infusion treatments, and tretinoin is given orally.

My father experienced very few side effects from the treatment and didn’t lose weight or anything. This treatment is much easier compared to what people experience with other forms of leukemia, and other forms of cancer.
