The need for a high level wing defender is the reason why KPJ will be tough long term to move to the 3. Next year… who cares about D… yet I guess so it’s worth a shot but defense could be historically bad unless we have a massive upgrade at the 5 at some point.

I agree that it’s preferable to keep JG at the off guard spot for reasons you mentioned. I just think that if it’s Sharpe or Ivy I’m not worried one bit about fit. In todays NBA fit really only matters when it comes to:

    -too many non shooters
    -too many defensive liabilities

We do need a high level athletic wing defender. Sharpe is a project. I'm more concerned with his mentality rather than his skill set, although I wish he had better driving skills like Green. I won't mind him as the 5th pick, if Stone sees him as a hard working team player and a willing defender. KPJ can continue as the 1 with Sharpe. If Ivey plays as the 1, KPJ can be moved to the SF spot for now. Kevin's one on one defense is pretty good.

According to my advanced model/analysis, if each of our lottery picks in the next 5 years turns into a Top 10 player, then we will have turned the corner.

They should do a lottery for the last 3 picks in the NBA, then we would really have something to be exited about...

    This is the way.

I really hope the rockets don't blow it by trading for and signing a bunch of vets to jump to the bottom of the playoffs and Kickstart the mediocrity treadmill.

Draft and develop players that get to the playoffs organically.

Ironically, some of this was done on the strength of BKN Nets picks. Let’s hope history repeats itself.

Who do we get to match up against the likes of Luka/Tatum/Giannis/Booker (incoming wave of superstars that are young/big wing or forward/can create/can pass/can bully into the basket/etc....)

I think we can get defensive role players in the future to cover that angle. 36 year old Al Horford and 22nd pick Grant Williams did a great job defensively, for the most part. PJ Tucker and Roco were undrafted. Lots of these type of guys slip through the cracks as they aren't primary ball handlers, elite shooters, or world class athletes. But I have confidence that by the time we are in contention, we'll find someone of that prototype to be the man on-ball stopper against the opposing shot creators.

Spurs are sending Robinson - I was hoping Dream would be our rep! Stone hit a home run last year - do it again!

Hakeem was the rep last year. Guess they don’t want to push their luck lol.

Alpi would have been a great choice. So happy.
