Bryan Abreu has now struck out 21 batters in his last 11 innings, he's been filthy.

Sucks that the winning streak ended, but the goal is to keep winning series, and we did that.

Yuli is too good of a hitter. Never was worried about him. I think that 2019 power may be gone but he definitely will get a ton of doubles and a great BA.

Aging + juiced balls. He's never really been a slugger but gets a lot of hits. I will say, it feels like he usually turns up his power for the playoffs, at least, it feels that way.

    Great win

This is what things can be if the bottom of the order can be avg. They don't have to do anything special.

Yep that definitely was an odd year. He only had 3 homers at end of may and end up hitting 31

he was hitting one seemingly every day in june and july

Some people here were calling for his benching before that ridiculous power streak happened.

As usual, the Astros know more about baseball than fools like me. I have been dubious about Abreu for a while, but it looks like he has turned it around.

What an encouraging, terrific win. Had all the makings of one of those games we were going to lose, then bam, offense wakes up. Another shutout

In 2019 Willy Taveras could have hit 20 home runs.

(with the baseball they were using that year)

This is so much better than going on a losing streak after the winning streak. Believe me, it is NOT unusual.

They are better without Strom, I guess.

It’s either that or the dead ball.

    I know…. Dead ball

The biggest problem I always had with Abreu when he wasn't on was that he would just try to throw the ball as hard as possible without having any command. It looks like he has turned things around but I do recall a bad outing or two from him earlier in the year. I could still see him possibly being a trade chip, same with Bielak.
