I agree. A few bad or debateable decisions were made but that occurs with all teams. As long as we draft well and upgrade the coaching in 2023 we will be fine.
That is great and all, but not only is our ex GM higher on the list, our ex GMs intern is 7 spots above him lol. Really lost a ton of great people in Houston. All I see here is that Raf is bottom half in the NBA.
I don't think he got a vote last season and now, he got a few this season for the award. Things are looking up for him and we see the bright spots with this young squad and front office. Just like our rebuild, it's a phase and in a few years, he'll be hoisting that Larry O'Brien and winning the GM award in a few years.
Is this starting a winning culture? @Nook @D-rock ? guys in town working out together and working with Silas this early?
He was a contract lawyer so naturally his forte was working out contracts. Now he proved he is not that bad as a drafter as well. He doesn't look very young and upcoming, he looks like a veteran with mediocre upside. As a matter of fact, slightly older than Morey even.
Really looks like Morey did a bang up job now, huh? Looks like he traded away the 76ers chances. Looks like to me that embid’s window is closed for a championship with the Sixers.
I think he has done an OK job, Jalen rising above the rest of the class will make him look better. I was just saying it isn't something to get super excited over being in the middle of the pack, and seeing Sachin who was very young when he joined the Rockets being in the top tier is disappointing. I think the Harden trade was still a disaster, regardless of how the picks pan out, we should have received more in tangible players vs. getting some guys and then salary dumping them for nothing. The fact that EG, Wood, etc are still around is not really good either. The Harden trade does not look too bad now because he has regressed so much, but at the time he was a top 3-5 player in the league.
Generally just surprised that he is 2 years older than Silas and months older than Morey.... I mean he is not going through a lot of rebuilds in his new found career.
Rockets really need to add a defensive guru to coaching staff. Especially if another 1 dimensional scorer is added with Rockets FRP.
This is exactly right no matter who we add in the draft. When Dantoni did it the Rockets defense got much better. There are countless other head coaches that have succeeded with a defensive Robin to their Batman. Not sure Silas is the offensive guru he is painted out to be, but I’m willing to give him the benefit of the doubt for one more season.
Our ex GM just had one of the worst flame outs ever with his mid season acquisition QUITTING in another elimination game. Every Rocket fan should be happy we're not in the mess Philly is in. Things are looking up for us. Stone & Silas are doing great
I think Stone is doing great. Jury is still out on Silas. I want to see what he can do this upcoming year when we are actually trying to run a system and if he can coach defense. Really hope Stone can find a defensive guru to add to the staff.
