None. None idea. This is from the espn recap of yesterday's game, only thing that seems clear is that Pena and Altuve are somewhere between "fully healthy" and "joint replacement": SS Jeremy Peña did not play, a day after leaving the second game of a doubleheader at Minnesota with a knee injury. "Hopefully, he'll be available in this series, but I'm not exactly sure when," Baker said. … Altuve was lifted for a defensive replacement in the ninth for precautionary reasons after he slipped on the grass earlier in the game. Baker said he had already planned to give Altuve a day off Saturday.
Once everyone is healthy- Dubon should be an excellent Goodrum replacement. He will provide solid depth
I'm hoping it is just deciding that Goodrum likely won't help this year and is solely a move to strengthen bench.
Sorry I know that is basically impossible to look up with out like being in the industry or on a team and having their resources. I think I was just pointing out that have such a stretch this early in the season may cause us to overestimate how good the staff will be in Oct/Nov. Basically something most of the posters here already know. Doesn't take away from their accomplishment. It is has been a ridiculous 2 weeks pitching wise.
Really like this trade even though I was probably the internets biggest Papierski fan. I have long thought Papierski will be a good mlb backup for a long time. But Dubon is a great upgrade over Goodrum. Obviously hoping this doesn’t mean Pena or Altuve are hurt.
Not a huge sample size, but Dubon has hit lefties extremely well so far. I wonder if they might start giving him some time over Brantley when we face lefties. He's had some bad BABIP luck in the early going, so he should fit right in. He can also play CF capably, alongside the infield. Could end up being an absolute steal as a team controlled utility man. Papierski could hang around the league, maybe even hit enough to be a regular, but he's about as low an upside guy as you can trade. According to Click the Giants wanted Papierski, not the other way around.
Meyers almost ready and Dubon....the Death Star is almost complete without exposed thermal exhaust ports.
