Been holding back after 5 years and finally caught up. Fuuuuck waiting and their fake mid-season finale. Covid and that filler Breaking Bad movie should be their mid-2-whole-season break...
This weeks show (as well as last week) was so slow and really had no "gotcha" moments, I was disappointed when it ended......I was like, WTF, like nothing happened
For the most part, that's the entire show... that's slowly ramped up its pace with Gus, the lab, and now Lalo. Where they finished last season was frenetic compared to the earlier seasons where literally nothing happened. You're either committed or you abandoned it awhile ago. It will be better appreciated on repeat viewings... in a mad men sort of way... but by no means does it have the orchestrated story-arc/plot twists that BB did (but its still a stellar show).
I really appreciate the slow pace. It's refreshing to watch a show that doesn't have 1) constant music or 2) that shaky camera and super-quick scene changes that every other show seems to have so often that it's become cliche. It's nice to watch a show that doesn't make you dizzy.
The longer we go where “nothing happens” with Kim, the more likely something will suddenly happen. just sayin
Mid seasons, I was expecting Kim to get wrecked by Jimmy in some form of firing or scandal, only for her to quit and double down. Similar outcome, different perception. Writers are pretty good at cooking up that tension.
Yep, never thought it would end well for her but it sure feels like it's coming sooner than later.....
You won't be able to unsee it, but next time (or rewatch) take note of how much camera frame is devoted to 2000's era kitchen/bath cabinets and countertop & shelving - Its bizarre! Like the director of photography came out of a 2007 Home Depot. Maybe that's how they help set the tone for "recent past"
most popular theory going around Spoiler Howard or Cliff is going to take the drug Jimmy got from the vet, and will have a heart attack and die. The vet specifically says the reaction depends on one's tolerance to caffeine, and Howard is shown avoiding coffee and instead drinking tea.
Maybe Kim doesn't die and was around during the Breaking Bad time-line and is even around in Saul's Nebraska relocation.
