At what point do you blink and say the American people are spending too much money on Ukraine? 50 billion? 100 billion? 1 trillion? How much are other countries spending?
Wars are costly as we should well know but so far our efforts in Ukraine are cheap compared to what was spent in Iraq and Afghanistan. Like everything else cost versus rate or return has to be determined and given that not only is Kyiv still standing but Ukraine is on the offensive so far the rate or return from Ukraine is good. Yes the US spends more than other countries on the military. That is the costs of being a superpower. As stated though not all of this money is in military aid and some of it is spent back on the US.
To emphasize again the cost of aid to Ukraine has to be balanced with the cost of potentially losing Ukraine. If Ukraine were to fall that would mean that Putin would not only control a fair amount of world energy production but also food production. If he so chose could use that to manipulate world markets. With a renewed Russian empire right up against several members of NATO and the EU would compel even greater military spending.

It's typical spin that neither refutes nor supports that you get with any press secretary. A bit nitpicky if there's any hidden meaning attached... Crypto Twitter at its best when something blows up.
There's propaganda and then there's that, Ukraine, taking 1:5 to 1:7.6 losses with mostly conscriptions? Let's just say there's been a reason that Ukraine haven't been talking about their own death tolls, and it's not because of some overwhelming advantage they have (p.s. that they're using conscriptions so heavily is also a tell....with that sort of kill rate, given that their standing army has larger numbers than russia's invading force....well yeah)
