http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/draft2004/news/story?id=1829597 I thought this was very telling. I knew Weisbrod called Franchise after the draft but I did not know it was his first. Not sure what the hold up is but I can't concieve that it is not a done deal.
Still baffles me! All the 'clues' that we read about this deal point to it happening, yet it hasnt yet! The only thing I can figure is that Weisbrod is just massaging the Orlando Media. Giving them a dog and pony show, showing them that Orlando Management is the boss, they control things and giving the Orlando media time to accept the Rockets deal as the best on the table and best for the franchise. The question is how long are they going to do this? I mean how many DAILY articles have to be written about the deal is 'almost there?' After a while the media will lose interest because there isnt a story anymore, just the girl that cried wolf!
Kay, thanks. When I first read the title I thought that the GM wasn't swayed by the deal being in limbo and was taking his time.
I think the man is just getting publicity... the more he can draw this out, the more publicity the Magic get... certainly better than the publicity of having the worst record in the league...
