I don’t take that tweet very seriously, I’m sure the rockets (as a young rebuilding team with potential cap space in the horizon) will be linked to a lot of players. Sexton doesn’t really fit unless KPJ is being moved.
Good project but not at the price he's asking. Maybe at $16m per season I'm willing to try to teach him to take care of the ball and play better defense. His scoring is already perfect (on the ball at least), goes to the line frequently and hits 3's at a high % and good volume. I see him paired with a SG who will be the floor general, I'm not sure Jalen and Sengun are ready to run the whole offense. I'm also not sure Sexton is ever useful without the ball in his hands.
I actually like him as a combo guard. Don’t want to add another combo guard to our team or pay him what he will get in free agency. Pass. a pure pint guard like Tyus would be the only type of player I’d be interested in adding to our back court. With Christopher and KPJ showing promising development we are all stocked up on combo guards and Green is going to dominate the minutes at the 2.
Okay who put this on Reddit. lol. No tanks. Nothing he can do any of our other young core guards couldn’t do.
The thing i take from the rumor is that if there is truth to it, then at least the FO is smart enough to realize we can't repeat a full season of KPJ at PG the way we did last year. We relied way too heavily on Schroder and EG to get our offense going, and I think the FO realizes that the advanced stats for KPJ show a guy who can possibly be a very lethal guard/forward and manage the ball, but really shouldn't be the every possession PG.
A deal centered around him and Gordon makes a ton of sense - we take a flier on Sexton's upside and Cleveland gets a piece that can help them compete in the East. Maybe they add in a favorable pick swap (such as their pick for MIL's) and we throw in a piece like KJ Martin to get the deal across the line
TyTy Washington will be our future Tyus Jones. He ran the P/R excellently in his 17 assists game for Kentucky, and he made some good short entry passes as well while ending up with 17 points. His defense is quite good too. TyTy played with more control than Nix in the summer league. Both TyTy and Nix have to improve and maintain their fitness though, especially Nix. @D-rock @ApacheWarrior @Deckard @Nook
