the only one who looks promising from midrange is Jalen Green, but even then, I don’t want it being a large part of his diet unless he got to KD, Kyrie, CP3, Devin Booker level from midrange

Green has embraced his inner 3 point sniper…48% of his shots were threes as a rookie

Thanks! Man, that really puts into perspective both how atrocious he shot early on and how the midrange definitely looks to become a legit weapon for him going forward.

Green, Scoot and JC can hit the mid range shot, the others can't.

Well if someone is taking like 5 or more a game you'd like to see them shoot over 50%, but even if they shoot in the mid-40s I think it's okay to average like 1-2 a game, possibly more or less depending on situations game to game though.

Having a good mid range game takes a lot of steps/component.
    1. First you need guys who have a "spot" they are super comfortable shooting with from many platforms/angles, as with the length in the NBA these days, most guys won't just get clean looks. Most elite mid range shooters have some element of fade away/off balance aspect to their shot or use the backboard as a counter that most defenders don't expect.
    2. Then you need an offensive system to open up the space in the mid range because otherwise it is too easy for defenders to cheat off and still get back to their man. They need way more coordinated movement and back picks in our system so that help defenders have other things to worry about.
    3. Then you need guys that hit their shots, either the dunker role or 3 pt to make teams pay for overcommitting to the guy with the ball
All of this can work within an offensive set up that highlights Green and Mount Alps strengths. I'm just really skeptical that Silas is the guy to develop that system. I would support way more modern triangle offense principles to accomplish that. An Adelman-like system is pretty to look at but I think too complex and has too many moving pieces for the youth on the team right now

I think less of this and more drives to the basket. Layups around the basket where you can get Segunn involved in a 2nd chance offensive rebound. If Porter and Green can create ftw line jumpers off of screens im all down. Just dont be throwing up bricks just cause you need some midrangers going in.

Lol we can cross that bridge when we've made a conference finals or something. Way down the road. That's like a tweak you make to a roster that's already in contention for the title. Not a foundation.

You have to have exhausted all the other options and you have to have a player who hits elite midrange % (as in top 10 in the NBA) for the shots to be worth taking and Jalen is looking like he might be one of those guys, but at present we don't have that guy.
