Has anyone heard from Mobley and Cato about the possible trade. So far its only been Francis doing the talkin. Also Hill says he likes the idea of playing with Francis, Mobley, and Cato.
I dont think they care they will still get paid!! Mobley doesnt care about winning he just wants to be famous. I wish we could keep Cato I think he is the most promising player we will be trading. He showed some heart and hustle in the playoffs. I know some of you will say Francis did too but he is the major part of a trade to get a major superstar and I dont feel he will get too much better. I think Mobley could be really good but doesnt have the mind set to become that player. I think people can tell when somebody is happy just being famous and I get that feeling with him. He doesnt want to work harder to become a better player. People might bash me for saying that about him but I remember watching him play against Kobe when Kobe first had his court dates. Mobley looked awesome against him. He took it to Kobe every play and scored every play! Why he didnt do that to him in the playoffs I cant understand. I dont want to ramble on like some fools do here but I think this trade will help us in the long run. Yao and Tmac will be just fine with me!!!!!
Thank you for seeing things my way. People on this board are blind. Mobley would rather be on sportscenter than winning. Some people are blind on this board!!
I very much agree, D. Mobley wants roles in romantic comedies. Maybe he'll get his shot out there in Disneyworld. I wish there was a way we could keep Cato though. He was the real anchor of our defense IMO. And it's pure joy when you can get a guy to sell out on the defensive side of the floor for the team... His offense will come around (See Ben Wallace). The guy came a long way (He played himself into the starting role even without the offensive threat). That's a negative to some, but it really says a lot about what he meant for our team. He will definitely be missed. I wonder how much a factor he is in the trade or whether ORL was keen on someone else ... I wonder if it's still negotiable. I can only dream of a righted EGriff or a healthy McDyess being able to fill Cato's shoes defensively.
agree! and that directly affect how Mobley play the game... looks good on scoreboard but doesn't help your team win. if you put him on a "team" like the Pistons, he'd kill the entire "system". if he was on the Pistons, he might give you 20+ points and make you think he's the best scorer on the team but the Pistons would lost to the Lakers in 5.
Hi Guys, Not sure if this has been posted, but here are Cuttino's thoughts on the trade.... http://www.foxsports.com/content/view?contentId=2512354 Sounds like the trade better go through...
He felt like he was cheated and thought he should have been informed alot earlier!. but he also said if he gets traded to orlando, he'll go there Cause he got no choice!. all in all, i thought he handeld it alot better then Francis!
Umm, everyone that posted prior to Knight = What on earth would make you think Cat doesn't work on his game or that he puts his own goals (fame) before the team goals (winning)? Is it his constant improvement? Is it the way he always is willing to change his game to fit with what the team asks him to do? Maybe it is the way he dropped from taking 18 shots per game down to 13. Is it the way he works on improving the weakest area of his game every offseason? Was it when he took less money than he was offered elsewhere to stay with the Rockets? Have any of you actually watched a Rockets game in the last 5 years?
What an idiotic quote. Mobley doesn't work on his game? Mobley would destroy the Piston's championship hopes. What planet are you guys residing on because it sure isn't Earth. If Mobley was so intent on being famous and not winning he wouldn't have adjusted his game last year and took less shots and gave himself up more on defense. He adjusted better then anybody last year on this team.
Exactly. Its funny that when Cat was interviewed about the trade, it was in between pick up games. Cat loves to play ball. I think thats been well documented.
I went to the 2 games in Dallas last year and Mobley was the first one warming up both times (I live in OK). He also signed a contract for far less than he could have to stay in Houston. I don't buy this Mobley wants to be famous stuff.
Both sides are right on this one. Mobley does want to be famous. Mobley does care about winning. He's a pretty smart Cat, and I'm sure he recognizes both ends are one in the same. He doesn't have Kobe or TMac's talent level. He doesn't have Rip Hamilton's talent level either, but he is much closer to that then some think. Mobley knows winning is the best way to get his name more publicized - plus he does love to ball.
