Sure. But the idea that all talents r equal and their ability to shine compared to others is dependant on the resources used is asinine. Not all picks are equal. It is very unlikely to find HoF type players in the late picks regardless of how much resources/playing time is given.

U can give Maciej Lampe similar mins to lebron James his rookie year and they still won't b equal.

Hakeem94 is basically saying, who the fk needs to tank to draft lottery picks when u can find similar players late in the draft. Since all players r equal in talent

Yes, hence the success of low picks will depend on the failure of other GMs. If every other GM misses a gem, then the HoF talent could fall to late first rounder or the 2nd round. Usually top 3 prospects active within the US or "physical specimens" are so clear cut that they won't drop beyond the lottery. However, not everybody is good at international scouting or identifying the potential of skilled players, so we can see many more late pick gems like Jokic, Ginobli, Draymond Green, Marc Gasol.

So while the obvious talents would be gone by the 2nd round, you are left with unobvious talents to choose from. So if you invest in scouting, then you can still succeed without tanking. This is the harder road to take because, again, it will depend on other GMs failing first!

Nobody saying high picks are exactly the same as lower picks in terms of value. @hakeem94 was stating that not all #1 picks are surefire studs and not all later picks are guaranteed duds. You really struggle with reading comprehension and even worse you’re condescending with all your replies. That’s a terrible combo. Almost as bad as Harden’s shooting % and turnovers. Almost.

Anthony Bennet was taken first overall and you think the lights on Magic Lamp (30th) are different bulbs?

Jahlil Okafor was taken 3rd overall and yes his non MVP contribution is definitely less than Jimmy Butler (30th)

You see two can play that game. More critical thinking and reading comprehension and less condescending my dude. No need to reply. Have a happy Mother’s Day.

Harden looking like hot garbage, again.

Not disciplined so he gets CP3 rip through'd by Oladipo. Then he can't get by Butler with a euro, so it's a charge.

I’m giving harden a slight pass this season, next year is gonna tell a lot if he is really done or not. I refuse to believe he’s done at 33

I wish Hardenthe best but I feel bad for whoever gives him a max. That will not be conducive to winning a championship.

Embid is way too brittle to flop as much as he does no wonder he is always injured.

Lowry is always hurt and stays jumping and flopping around and ends up of the floor. No wonder you can’t stay healthy

that was a nice pass by Harden

Miami does not look that impressive…their offense sucks

Milwaukee or Boston would make quick work of them

so many guys who would be making bank if they could shoot

imagine if Thybulle could shoot even just league average on decent volume and his jumper wasn’t complete trash

Herro is really good, but the Heat rely on him so much for offense

only Butler and Herro can score

Heat shooting 64% from the field. 57% from three...James hitting threes and not turning the ball over....can't keep it up.

Did Lowry really just flop and re-aggravate his hamstring injury?
