    https://official.nba.com/pool-repor...todays-phoenix-suns-at-dallas-mavericks-game/

The Pool Report interview was conducted by Tim MacMahon (ESPN) with Crew Chief Kane Fitzgerald following tonight’s Suns and Mavericks game.

QUESTION: What was explanation for the fifth foul called on Chris Paul and the Suns unsuccessful challenge?

FITZGERALD: Chris Paul veers into the path of the defender without giving him the opportunity to avoid contact so that is why it is an offensive foul.

QUESTION: What is the explanation for the sixth foul called on Chris Paul?

FITZGERALD: As Brunson jumps to get the rebound Chris Paul grabs his right wrist causing him to lose his balance in the air and fall backwards.

Paul is notorious for bringing the ball up directly in front of a defender running back on defense to create a collision and bait a foul call. It should be an offensive foul. It's just never called one. To call it now, along with all the other ticky tack fouls he got, as well as the Suns being called for every touch, Luka spending 80% of the time on the floor, the officiating had a clear agenda to give this game to the Mavs.

Refs had something to do with this, but also there's no question that CP3 looked tired. He was pushed to the limit vs NO, and maybe now it's starting to show. I hope today was a fluke and he gets his second wind. I'd like to see Phoenix come out of the West, and to get there they need him at the top of his game.

And it’s never an offensive foul. Lets not act like they’re going to call that an offensive foul going forward. But yeah all the weak flailing was embarrassing today for the fouls called. As a result cp3 was never able to actually get into the game. Which clearly worked

With all due respect, you don't seem to have a grasp on the rules.

Just because it isn't always called doesn't mean it isn't a foul. He clearly knocks over Brunson by flopping in front of him.

It's never called an offensive foul, but it should be. I have doubts that it'll be called the same. Consistent officiating is the biggest problem in the NBA. The league has too much power to influence the outcomes. Everyone knows it, we complain about it. But we still end up watching for some reason.

They actually called that same exact foul on Brunson veering into Cp3 in the 4th quarter of game 2.

Ironically the NBA change the rule on those calls a couple years ago primarily due to CP3.

I agree with this being an offensive foul…whether it gets called all the time or not is another thing

Wasn’t this 1 of the points of emphasis heading into the season?

This is why I don’t bet on sports. Mavs have no business being in this series.

Is CP3 gonna be on demon time for game 5? That tweet doesn’t seem like him

Chris Paul has a history of suspicious behavior that makes me wonder if he's an NBA plant willing to sacrifice for league narratives. Last year it was suspicious injuries and recoveries and ridiculous play against the Lakers; this year it's stuff like today's game. At the end of the day, the Suns should advance regardless, but his play has pushed it to 6. Who knows if he has another sabotage game in him for the series to go 7 or if he helps Luka advance to the WCFs. Of course, the more logical explanation is that he is injury prone and chokes, but still.

It doesn’t matter. And I understand just fine. Whether it’s called or not. Historically that’s not a foul. Brunson gets called for that foul in pretty much every other game

I don’t think it is. It’s a foul on the defender for running into the ball handler. That’s part of playing organized basketball.

    I don’t mind Giannis. I think he’s the game’s best player.
