This is an interesting arrangement... especially considering that San Antonio already has a footprint in Austin with their G-League team. San Antonio also probably has the Texas market outside of DFW and Houston metro areas. Maybe if we had our G-League team in Corpus Christi or El Paso...: https://www.texasmonthly.com/arts-e...N5zrEUBLcYNQHTNKDhBVmtM0W0w0Wq72zKPJZFM8RodjI Why Are the Spurs Playing Footsie With Austin? The team's request to play more "home" games away from the AT&T Center raised familiar fears that San Antonio could lose its NBA franchise. Anyway, here we go again. The Spurs have not threatened to leave San Antonio this time. They don’t need to. Instead, they asked for—and received—permission from Bexar County commissioners to play two home games in Austin next season. Specifically, the franchise outlined a “two-year pilot program” regarding Austin. Amid the stirring of some familiar and understandable insecurities within one of the NBA’s smallest markets, commissioners approved only the two games for next season (in addition to one in Mexico City and another in the Alamodome). [...] Motives are never clear in these things. Could the Spurs be eyeing some sort of team-sharing arrangement similar to the Tampa Bay Rays’ proposal that they play half their home games in Montreal and half in Tampa Bay? That idea went nowhere. If the Spurs were to try something like it, that too would be DOA, because teams belong to a city. “Our team” means nothing when the franchise is also their team, whether that’s referring to the fans all the way up in Montreal or the folks eighty miles up Interstate 35. But is there some number of home games that could allow the Spurs to tap into Austin’s wealth while remaining San Antonio’s team? What would it be—ten games? A dozen?
Because San Antonio is filled with churro-eating big ol’ woman. Victoria’s a secret down there. Spoiler
Spurs flirting with another city is like the husband asks the wife if he date another lady (part time) Might not end well.
Richard Jefferson is right. San Antonio is a dump. https://news4sanantonio.com/sports/former-spur-richard-jefferson-calls-san-antonio-a-dump And smells like shite too. Literally. Since they have the huge rodeo every year.
The cities are going to merge into one metro within the next 30 years and the Spurs know it. Instead of Austin getting its own team, they want to jump on becoming THE team of San Austonio Congratulations to the residents of San Marcos, a new super arena will be built just south of town.
that Richard Jefferson article had a link to a story about a child predator in Alabama who looks like this his face is on pepperoni pizza status…damn dude, take a shower looks like he puts out his cigarettes by using his own face and there was also a link to a story about a woman who tried to kill her baby
