With all due respect, you're talking about 50 years of settled law and a political act being committed by a majority of Supreme Court judges that exists only because they were appointed over the last few years. That after the refusal of a Republican controlled Senate to even interview President Obama's selection of the highly qualified Judge Merrick Garland to fill the vacant seat on the Supreme Court left by the death Of Judge Scalia. A political act followed by this political act of overturning, again, the settled law of Roe v Wade. Pretending that this outrageous tossing of precedent into a dumpster isn't a political act is pure nonsense.

I appreciate it but I think you are wasting your effort. He has had an axe to grind with me for decades and for him it's deeply personal. I guess I attacked him too hard in the past and he still can't get over it. Now he stalks me on LinkedIn and makes veiled threats every now and then (I believe to try and cause me some kind of stress), and takes pot shots when he can. It doesn't bother me anymore. I am after all responsible in part and I regret all the personal attacks I made on the BBS as I realize that words can actually be hurtful and cause long terms effects with people. So let him take his pot shots at me. It really is water off my back at this point.

Maybe the original decision was a political one? Voted for by mostly liberal judges. The decision of the Court in Roe vs. Wade is not some unassailable position. I suspect you wouldn't be such an unquestioned champion of stare decisis if a future court overturned a decision you did not like. Roe v. Wade has always been on shaky ground and that's not just my opinion, that's coming from pre-eminent liberal legal scholars. If it's the will of the people to codify the rights you think are enumerated in the Constitution as interpreted by Roe vs. Wade. Let them.
