Again you keep trying to conflate AOC and Bernie (thanks for the clarification) but I'm having a hard time seeing anything they propose (health care, child care, more equitable tax rates) being harmful to "we people". They certainly don't claim their social welfare ideas (which again, is NOT socialism) will be free - all of their proposals include tax adjustments to help pay for it and almost all of those tax adjustments focus on the 1% that are paying historically low taxes.

 

Are you seriously equating wanting living wages, socialized healthcare (something that literally dozens of first world, developed countries have...and IS NOT SOCIALISM), workers' rights, and pharmaceutical regulation with people who believe that the Jews have lasers in space, hate anyone that isn't a WASP, and believe that violence and bloodshed against those that disagree with you is a normal way to go through life?? The "both sides need to come to the middle" argument doesn't work when the middle shifts further and further right every year, and you have one side that literally plays by zero rules. It also gives credibility to the terrorist GQP when you act like AOC and Bernie are in the same class as MTG and Donald Trump. Stop that line of thinking immediately if you truly believe there's a middle ground for people to settle into.

Hell no to nationalized Healthcare. I'd rather have my company tell me what Healthcare plans I can get. Then let some for-profit insurance company tell me which benefits I am qualified for under the plans my company chose. Then have the privilege of paying premiums, co-pays, and deductibles that would be more than the taxes I would pay for national healthcare.

 

Saying both sides are the same is like saying murder and stealing a pack of gum are the same because they are both against the law.

Example... The Left is saying "We should wear jeans and a comfortable shirt to work"... The Right is saying "We should wear suits and ties to work"... Both are sticking to their guns and will not move... Instead of saying why can't we do both or either "wear jeans with a sport coat"

One side is always thinking their side and their way of thinking is the RIGHT and ONLY way..... They may not use the same tone, words or language... But they both are acting the same..

You have one group that literally will say voting totals are fake news when they lose by millions of votes wanting to drop entire counties like Fulton County that has millions of voters over false claims of fraud. And you want to equate the left being consistent with their policy desires but playing within the frame of proper procedure and law with the group I just described? Asinine.

For your healthcare ques... How is it that adults on both side can't come to the table to agree on a sensible plan...
I would say that out of all the things with healthcare, both sides agree on 70 to 80 percent of the same thing... But neither side wants to sit and negotiate on the other 20 to 30 percent... they both want their way...

There is a significant gap in claims from "one side is perfect" to "both sides are the same". I'm not saying the former. You are saying the latter.

Look dude it's okay to admit you are indifferent and don't pay attention to most of this crap. But don't use that as an excuse to say "both sides are the same".


It seems like politicians merely advocating for a public option to you is akin to the right not wanting to compromise to the point of claiming that millions of votes are fake news. Zero nuance to this.

The "both sides do it" is a cop out answer. Take a stance!

It comes down to this fundamental difference.
Liberals believe "everybody deserves a fair shot"
Conservatives believe "I have a right to keep and protect what belongs to me"

The source of the problem is that America was founded on the principle that "all men are created equal" ...however, they actually meant "some men." So America wrote a check that it's ass can't cash and there really isn't a way to reconcile that difference until we agree what "all men" means.

All that said, we had decorum and compromise but social media has obliterated that and now that fault line in our founding is turning into an earthquake.
